A/N: uhm yes hi hello? is this thing on? first time writing fan fic for the umbrella academy woooo!!!!! please please please for the love of GOD let me know if this good, bad, ugly or just straight mid. k thanksssss <3
Word Count: 3.4k
Summary: She's the missing puzzle piece after all.
âFive what you doing?â She asked sternly.
Lila had dragged her family and her children into the runaway train that Five got lost in. Seeing this pristine train was an unsettling sight. They could hear the Durangos roar in the distance. Time was of an essence.
âYouâre going with them.â Five spats.
A look of disbelief washes over her eyes. Looking towards the man sheâs loved all these years with tears threatening to spill from the corner of his eyes. She wanted to pull him close. Comfort him despite this big manly persona he led everyone to believe.
âNo.â She states. Crossing her arms in protest.
Above them the chime of the train departure interrupts their conversation.
âFive, no-â Sheâs about to reach out to him when he shoves her roughly. She stumbles into the train car and into Claire.
âNo! No!â She screams as the doors begin to close in front of her. Fighting against Claire and Lilaâs father, she breaks freak from their grip.
She starts to pound on the glass. Tears streaming down her face as Five lets loose the ones he was holding in. The train starts to move. Sheâs screaming at the top her lungs now. How could he. How dare he go on this journey alone?
The train starts to speed up. Throwing her off her feet. She lands on the floor and curls into fetal position. Their memories running through her head a mile a minute. Her heart shattered. No more shared moments between the two of them, no more laughter, and love. How could she live in a world were he was a distant memory?
~~~~~~~~
Sheâs pulled to her feet by Ronnie. A cherished family friend of hers when the train comes to a halt. She looks around confused at how she got to where she was. Being with Ronnie and Anitaâs family, and Claire. Claire was sniffling, holding on to a ripped and crumpled note that read, âtake care of my daughter.â Something in her gut told her that Claire was her responsibility now.
That was months ago.
Instead of splitting off into separate lives, Claire made the argument that they had to live close to Ronnie and Anita. Claiming that some weird intuition told her to do so. So, thatâs what they did. She bought a condo not far from the home that the Pitts purchased. The condo felt familiar in some odd way. Like dĂ©jĂ vu. This overwhelming sense of love and admiration flooded her senses when they first toured it. She didnât even need a day to think on. She put an offer in that same hour, and within that same hour it was accepted.
Claire stayed with her, finishing high school and moving off to college. Their goodbye was tearful and heart felt. Claire promised to visit her during holidays so that way she wasnât lonely. Despite having their friends to visit each year.
During the summer she found a job within the local city library as a librarian. She found peace and solace in the quietness. The smell of books seemed to fill this whole in her heart. She also started therapy during this time. She had these magical dreams about this man. But he really wasnât a man. He was a man stuck in a young adult body who had magical powers. Him, and siblings all had magical powers. She dreamt of the world ending. The apocalypse beginning. Being stuck in 1963 in Dallas. But, that boy was always by her side. Â
These dreams felt so real some days. That when she awoke she couldâve sworn that the man she was dreaming of was in her room. Only to fade away with the morning sun. Shortly after the dreams began, she started to receive bouquets of flowers each week. The card only ever reading -MH. She had no idea who, or what that meant. The only possible explanation for the H was Hargreaves. But that couldnât be possible. Hargreaves was the last name of the man she dreamt of. And he wasnât real..right?
One particular week, she was gifted these beautiful marigolds, nothing else. She had trouble bringing home the bouquet because of how large this particular one was. She fished around the bottom cabinets of her kitchen to find a vase big enough for them. She filled it up with water and placed them in. Something told her that they needed to be in the bedroom with her. She smiled as she placed them on the other side table. They seemed to glow within the room itself.
That night, was the worst of the nightmares she had. She watched helplessly as the man she seemed to have love and his siblings die. But she wasnât there fully. Like she was a ghost watching a show. Until the Cleanse seemed to reach up at her. Just as her foot was sucked in, she shot up in bed. Breathing heavy she rose out of bed and went to open the bedroom window to let in the crisp air. Sitting on the bench that adorned the window, something from the shadows down below caught her eye. There was absolutely no way what she was seeing was real. The man she dreamt about was below her in the alley way, looking up to her. He smiled brightly before turning and disappearing into the darkness.
Jumping from the bench she ran to her front door. Grabbing the oversized black coat she wore and slipped on her shoes. She rushed down the stairs in hopes to catch him. Her heart racing with each step. Finally busting out of the back door that lead into the alleyway, she sees what she believes is to be his shadow further down.
âHey!â she yells towards him. The man briefly looks over his shoulder before making a left. Disappearing into darkness again. She takes a deep breath. This is crazy right? Going after a shadow in the dark? But her gut screamed at her to follow. She had to follow.
Sprinting down the corridor she makes the same left turn he did. She sees his shadow illuminated behind the street lamp that was across the street.
âHey!â She screeches again as she comes up to the sidewalk.
The man still not saying anything turns, and starts to head down a flight of stairs she didnât even know was there. Gulping, she makes sure to look both ways before sprinting across the avenue. She stands at the top of the stair case. The manâs back disappearing under the overhang. Debating on whether to follow, she decided to. She had come too far without knowing who the hell he was.
She entered into a train station. Too clean of a train station to be atypical city train station. But, the noise of music and rattling dishes pulled her from her thoughts. Around a corner, bright lights illuminated onto the train station tile to which she followed.
As she turned the corner, a bright neon orange sign read MAXâS DELICATESSEN. It was a diner in the middle of a underground train station. Totally not odd. She opens the door to the diner and steps in. Almost immediately regretting it as multiple heads turn her way. Her breath caught in her throat. They were all him. The man she dreamt about. Scared, she was about to step back when one of them from the middle booth rose in his seat.
âPlease! Donât go,â he shouted. Looking flustered as the others of him in the room snickered at his attempt.
âThatâs not how you treat this particular guest Five,â The one behind the kitchen counter spat.
He came out from around the counter. Wiping his hands over the waist apron he wore. She looked at him curiously. After padding down his hands, he stood to attention with a smile.
âMiss, Y/N, your table awaits, follow me please.â He said with a wink. A small giggle arose from her chest. Which caught her by surprise.
âAnd here you are, coffee, black Iâm assuming miss?â The man in the apron asks as she settles into the booth seat where the other man was.
âYes, how did you know?â She asks. Looking between the two men.
âWe know everything about you Y/N,â he said with smile before turning on his heel back towards the counter.
The other man who sat in the seat across from her seemed nervous. He was fiddling away with his thumbs. They sat in silence until the man in the apron brought her fresh cup of coffee.
âThank you,â she whispered.
She brought the hot cup of coffee to her lips. Taking a brief sip. Her face contorted at the bitterness of the coffee.
âApologizes, the coffee is shit.â The man in the apron said with a grin before he made his way back over to the counter again.
Groaning, she set down the cup and pushed it aside. With the empty table space in front of her, she clasped her hands together and rested her chin on top of them. Starring towards the man in the booth who had picked up the newspaper he was reading. Clearing her throat, he peaked from over the pages. With her eyes, she signaled to him to set it down. His eyes darted between her and the paper before sighing loudly. Setting the paper aside.
âSo-â The man across from her coughed as he took a sip of his own cup of coffee. His face mirroring that same expression she did before.
âSo, who are you?â She asks. Eyes narrowing. She watched closely as the man gulped and tugged at his tie.
âFive-â he responded.
âFive?â She repeated.
âFive Hargreaves.â The man stated before her.
âYouâve been in my dreams.â She sighed, lowering her hands to the table. Shifting to allow her back to rest against the backboard of the booth.
âI know.â He stated through gritted teeth. It seemed like whoever he was, was having a hard time being there too.
âWhy?â She asks with a stale flick of her tongue. She was growing impatient at this point.
âIâm your husband.â Five responded. His expression briefly softening before turning stark cold again.
âI-Iâm sorry, what?â She chokes on her words.
âFrom another timeline.â He continues.
âOh spit it out mate!â Another Five from behind the counter pipes up. They all seemed frustrated with the one in front of her.
âIâm your husband, Iâmean- weâre all  your husbands. From different timelines. Different points of existence. Each of us loosing you in some way.â The Five in front of her continues. He brushes the bangs from his face and starts to shimmy off the black over coat he adorned. Too similar to the one she was wearing. She notices a cut on his upper left eyebrow. Taking a alcohol pad she had in one the pockets, she opens it to presumably clean the wound. He coughs, making her look at him, and back down to the pad. Confused on how natural it all felt. Â
âWhat do you mean by lost?â She asks.
âYou died in my arms on the night we got married.â A Five from one of the corner booths huffs out. Twirling the ring that sat on his ring finger.
âI lost you to a fire,â One of them whispers from behind the counter. The other Fives pat him gently on the back.
âAnd you?â She asks, turning to the Five in front of her.
âI sent you away.â He bluntly responds.
âThis train station that youâre in?â He motions to outside of the diner.
âI pushed you into it with Anita and Ronnie and Claire. To save you from The Cleanse.â His voice drifted off at the last bit.
âThe Cleanse?â She asks curiously.
âTo much to explain darlinââ A Five from behind her says in a deep southern tone.
âSo why am I here?â She questions. Her heart felt whole just seeing the other man in front of her but unsure why.
âI need to get you back to the correct timeline. Heâs there, right now, dying with him family. Those are the dreams youâve been seeing. But I gave him the wrong advice. He didnât need to die. They didnât need to die. Youre the final key to stop the cleanse.â Five reaches out from around the table and his fingers graze across her neck. She melts at the touch of his skin on hers, but he pulls forward the chain to her necklace.
It was a Umbrella necklace.
âThis necklace,â Five saves slightly tapping the main parts of the umbrella folds that begin to shimmer.
âHas an elixir. It was there in front of me all along.â He sighs.
âBut I donât have any memories of him, of you-â She starts, and Five puts up his hand to stop her mid-sentence.
âFollow me,â he replies, climbing out the booth and holding out his hands to hers. Â
She grabs ahold and he pulls her from the booth. Dragging her outside the diner, she can hear the other Fiveâs say their goodbyes.
Five pulls her towards the train that was mysteriously there now. The doors opening once they were toe-to-toe with the platform.
âIâm not-â She stutters, looking panickily between the train, Five, and the entrance to the train station. Thinking about Claire.
âHe needs you, now more than ever.â Five whispers. He cups her face between his hands. Turning her towards him.
âWhat are you doin-â She asks when Five places his lips against her forehead.
Simultaneously, a blue orb of light starts to engulf the two. And a massive headache came along with it.
âAh-â She grunts, pulling away from the man before her clutching her head and tumbling into the train.
âWait, no!â She screams, still clutching her head.
The train speeds up and almost tosses her to her feet. However, the same blue light from mere moments before shots out around her. Unbeknownst to her, her eyes glow as well. A light blue shade, similar to Fiveâs.
As the train comes to a stop. She regains consciousness. The memories of her life before returning. The love she felt for the man she spoke with flooding her blood stream. Above, she could hear crashing and the sounds of civilians screaming.
âCmonââ She whispers, jumping and shaking out her hands.
In a full on sprint, she darts out of the train. Just has her feet reach the tiled platform she blips.
Landing roughly on a set of stairs. Groaning from the fact that she just time traveled technically, she can hear the shouts of others in front of her. Her blurred vision coming clear. She gasps at the sight.
They all were being engulfed in the Durango.
âY/N? What the HELL are you doing here? HOW?â Five shouts. She can see him struggling against the Durango.
âItâs the necklace!â She responds as the Durango screeches overhead.
âIt has an elixir that Reginald hid. Bitter old man!â She curses to the skies.
âAn elixir? What are you talking about?â Five screams from his spot.
The look of fear and pain was washed over his features and she wanted nothing more than comfort him. But she had a bigger job to do.
Whistling, she grabs the attention of the Durango.
âY/N NO!â Five cries out.
âI love you!â She screams as she turns on her heels. A full sprint down the corridor and out the front door.
Her heart hurts at the sight of destruction. But the roar of the Durango pulls her from her thoughts and she continues her sprint down the street. Hoping to save them in time. She didnât care if she died here. Just knowing that her husband and his family was safe from the horrible childhood they had to endure that they didnât ask for.
After almost a block away, she stops. Cooing at the Durango to come just a little closer. But, one of the tentacles from the Durango captures her at her feet. Struggling against it, she takes a deep breath. Allowing the puss to climb up her legs. Just as it reaches her waist, she yanks the chain from her neck. The Durango was fulling on top of her at this point.
âCome get it asshole!â She screams. Tossing the necklace towards the mouth of the Durango.
The Durango catches it as the puss reaches above her chest. In the distance behind the Durango she can see all of them sprinting towards her. Five ahead of them. Unable to make out what he was saying, she smile brightly at him as the puss was beginning to swallow her neck. Just as sheâs about to see her lover one final time, the Durango glows blue. Screeching at the top of its lungs, it explodes. The puss around her shattering and the force of it shoots her backwards. Sheâs launched into a street light pole, and the world around her goes black.
~~~~~~~~
She groans as her eyes flutter and try to adjust to the ungodly bright light. Coughing, she tries to move her head around but is met with sharp pains shooting up and down her neck. Softly moving her head to the side, she can see Five in a chair, fast asleep but holding on tightly to her hand. Mustering up all the energy that she could, she squeezes his hand. His eyes fluttering open at the sensation. His hair was longer now, but his features were just as handsome as the day they met.
âY/N,â Five whispers. Gently caressing the hand he held.
âWhere am I?â She asks through a bitter cough.
âYouâre in a hospital. We made it.â He laughs quietly.
She grins at his response. The sense of relief washes over her shoulders, lifting some of the pain along with it.
âHow did you know?â Five asks from beside her. He had scooted the chair he was in closer to her hospital bed and started to caress her bruised cheek.
âYou told me-â She hoarsely replies.
Fiveâs gaze softens into confusion when thereâs a knock on the door.
âCan we come in?â Luther asks from the door way.
She smiles softly and nods. The rest of the siblings begin to pile into the small room that she was being treated in.
âHow long has it been?â She croaks.
âItâs been a year, you were in a coma.â Klaus replies. Sitting next to Five in one of the chairs.
âHow did you know I was awake?â She asks.
âSilly goose, I always know.â Â Klaus jokes with a smile and swat of his hand.
The siblings catch her up on everything that happened while she was out. Expplaining that their powers are gone for good now. That Lila, and Diegos family was back, and Allison had Claire again. None of them remembering their lives in the other timeline.
Five sat quietly beside her, caressing her hand the whole time. At some point in the night, the doctors ushered everyone out besides Five so they could run some tests. Determining that she was able to go home at the end of the week. Time didnât matter for her at this point.
After everyone had left, they two of them remain in the same position in silence. She could hear her heart beating in her chest. That same sense of overwhelming love that poured from such a small man engulfed her. She couldnât believe that she had such a devoting husband after all this time.
âYou stayed,â she comments with a small smile forming on her lips.
Five was puzzled as he was pulled out his thoughts, and she repeated her statement again.
âYou mean everything to me, after that suicide mission-â Five pauses and lets out a cold laugh.
âI love you-â She interrupts him as he goes to continue his sentence. Not wanting to hear any bashed talk from the man.
âI love you.â He responds with a half crooked smile.
Patting beside her, she motions for him to join her on the hospital bed. About to protest, she stops him. Sternly pointing to the spot beside her. With a groan, he climbs onto the bed. As he settles into his spot, she lifts her head to place it on his chest. Her hand resting over his heart. Feeling it beat beneath her made her sigh. Knowing for sure they were alive lifted a weight from her shoulders. She smiled as Five places a sweet kiss on the top of her head. Pulling her impossibly closer then she already was.
Appreciative of the fact that they got to keep each other after all.

"_____", are you- Part 1
Here's the Continuation of this au?
Anything that is indented means it in korean.
âDonât freak but I think weâre in Lovely Princess.â
*Choke* âArhen?!â
Itâs been a week since they've been living in one of the villas owned by the imperial family of Obelia with Princess Selena along with her family. During that time, Eden and one of Selenaâs maids went to Deorlina Castel to receive Verbena. It was fairly easy since Rurahelle once again just dropped her off and left without even bothering to check if the twins were there. While the maids do take care of Verbena via instructions by Rurahelle and the head maid, they still neglect her during the day like the twins leaving her to play with the twins. Eden only packed a few of Verbenaâs dresses since most of the dresses Rurahelle brought for Verbena werenât presentable. Fast forward to last in the day when they returned to the villa and Arhen had woken up. Since the doctor recommended for Arhen not to move his arms too much at the moment, Eden was feeding him until Arienne spoke.
 âWhat happened?! Did you forget to swallow?! Verbena, hand me the glass of water from the table.â Said Eden frantically. Verbena flinched at the sudden command. âO-okay!â said Verbena. Verbena leaned from her chair to reach the glass of water and handed it to her aunt. âAuntie, is Arhen gonna be okay?â asked Verbena. She was glad Arhen was recovering from his wounds but she feels guilty for not being there for him and Arienne. Maybe she shouldâve begged her mother to let her stay in the castle harder yesterday.Â
âIâm fin-ââ *cough* âBig sister,â Reassured Arhen. He already worried Arienne and his aunt, Eden; he didnât want to worry another girl in his current family. âArhen, here drink this and be carefulâ said Eden as she tried to make Arhen drink the water. âOkay, Auntie.â Arhen said nonchalantly. Eden helped Arhen with the glass and Arhen began drinking his water. âYou know itâs rude to leave people unanswered, Geon.â Said Arienne. While she is concerned about Arhenâs health, she wanted to hear his response to her statement.
âAnd itâs rude to startle an injured patient, Sun-Hi. Did you forget whoâs injured here?â Said Arhen. After making sure he was fine and finished eating, Eden left the room to bring the plates to the villaâs kitchen. Meanwhile she left Verbena to watch the twins as she was coming. âOkay, babies! Auntie left me in charge of you for a few minutes so Arienne be on your best behaviorâ. Said Verbena with a puff. âEh?!â Arienne whipped her head towards her older sister with a âseriousâ expression. Arienne always thought it was funny how this 9 year old (soon to be 10) always tried to be the grown up in situations.Â
*Snickers* Arienne looks toward the infirmary bed and sees Arhen covering his mouth so she couldnât see him snickering at her. âYou-â Arienne is picked up by Verbena and was placed on her sisterâs lap. âThere! Weâll just wait until Auntie comes back.â said Verbena. She wasnât letting her leave the room.
âSo whyâd you mentioned that cringey book?â âEh?â Arienne looked towards Arhen to see he was expecting an answer. Arienne sighed and answered her brother, âwell I think we might be in that book right now. Remember that girl you passed out on? Well she had blue jeweled eyes. JEWELED eyes, Arhen! Literally, where else have we heard about that?!â Shouted Arienne. âOuch, my ears! The girl I passed out had jeweled blue eyes? I know we were born into a fantasy world but I think thatâs stretching it a bit.â Said Arhen.Â
Theyâre in Lovely Princess? The very book that made him want to rip his hair due to the adults in the story. The protagonist was manipulated since childhood and wanted a family but when she got it, she was stuck with a tyrant for a father who neglected her younger siblings and later unjustifiably executed one of her younger sisters for misunderstanding. That Lovely Princess?! He remembers reading online comments about the book and feeling sick after seeing fans justifying the tyrantâs actions, âhow he was showing his love for his daughterâ. He remembers feeling bad for those siblings. Honestly comparing their unfortunate situations, he relates to them in a way.
âShow meâ âWhat?â âShow me. I want to see the girl with my own eyes.â Arhen said honestly. Arienne looked at Arhen and noticed he was being serious. *Gulp* âArhen thereâs also one more thing you should know.â Said Arienne. âWhat? Let me guess, is one of them reincarnated like us?â Arhen said sarcastically.
âWell yes actually, I think it's athy to be exactâ
âWhat?!â
âGwah! Arhen?!â
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eden came back and asked if Verbena and the twins wanted to go to the playroom to play with the other children in the villa but Verbena denied since she would be in a room filled with a bunch of three year olds. There werenât any older kids in the villa so Verbena was going to stay in her room reading until Selena gets a teacher for her; In Obelia, children started their education at 8 so she was a bit late by Obelian law.
So then Eden brought the twins to the playroom where some of Selenaâs nieces and nephews were playing. Eden went to the other side of the room to sit with who the twins assume theyâre the mothers since they were dressed in noble clothing. âYou know I am aware that Jennette has a lot of younger siblings but this is a lot!â said Arienne. âLot of siblings? Didnât she actually only have two siblings who she never got to meet? Athanasia and the others are her siblings.â Corrected Arhen. While he detested Lovely Princess, he did remember key details about the book like who readers would get confused by the amount of siblings the protagonist, Jennette, had within the story. While others pay no mind to it since most of them were never named in the book, only gave descriptions like their hair and eye color.
On the Arienneâs side, Arhen sees a toddler with dark gray hair with jeweled blue eyes like Jennette and Athanasia. Princess Argiro de Alger Obelia, the youngest princess. She was playing with an animal plushie. âOh Kolyaâs here!â âHm?â He turns around and spots a toddler on a womanâs lap, presumably his mother since both appear to have air force blue hair and orange eyes. However, the boyâs eyes were jeweled. Prince Kolya de Alger Obelia, the third prince of Obelia. In the novel, Koyla didnât like Jennette at first due to his fatherâs, Claude, obvious favoritism shown for her.
But where was Athanasia? He looked around and spotted a maid with brown hair and celeste eyes holding a toddler with sunflower blonde. Lilian York, Athanasiaâs nanny and one of the people who defended Athanasia before she was killed. So then the toddler sheâs holding would have to be Athanasia.
Arienne seemed to notice too cause she got up and gently got him to his feet. They walked over and noticed both Lilian and Athanasia saw them approaching. Athanasia got off of Lilianâs lap and walked over to the twins. âAri, you brought goldie!â exclaimed Athanasia. âGoldie?â Questioned the twins. Athanasia nodded. âYep! Your hair looks like gold! Hehe.â Replied Athanasia.Â
âMy nameâs Arhen.â Said Arhen. He wanted to see if Arienne was right. He sees anything out of the ordinary. Should he just ask? If she didnât reincarnate like them, it would be fine since she wonât remember. Athanasia tilted her head at Arhenâs name and said,âArhen? Like a chicken?â she said childlike. âPrincess! Thatâs rude!â Said Lilian. âOops, sorry ki- eh but Lily he was hen in his name like a chicken!â âYour Highness!â Arhen was pretty sure she almost called him kid. Maybe he should ask instead? Â
âYou know I always thought your new name was a bit weird, Geon.â He looked towards Arienne who had a smug look on her face. âOh screw off! I didnât choose the name âArhenâ. We were literally born into a fantasy world!â said Arhen. âAri? Goldie? Where are you making weird faces?â Said Athanasia. Apparently, she noticed their expressions were changing as they telepathically talked to one another. âOh nothing, athy! Weâre playing a game? Right, Arhen?â Arienne said, unsure how to excuse them. âUm yes?â âAthy? What kind of nickname is that?â âHey, I think it's cute besides her name is long.â âYeah thatâs trueâ
âOk? Wanna you want to play dolls?â said Athanasia. The twins agreed and they went to the area where the toys were. There they noticed a toddler with bright purple hair. They got the dolls but things got weird as how do you play with dolls as a three year old and make it look natural while also remembering you are mentally older? So they tried to break the silence.Â
â......Ari, Goldie-â
â.....Athy-â
âDid you reincarnate like me too?â
âDid you reincarnate like us too?ïżœïżœ
Hope you guys liked it!
labor and delivery
masterlist | 1k prompt masterlist | pregnancy series
pairings: diluc, kaeya, childe and zhongli x female!reader (separate)
warnings: pregnancy, labor/birth, 5.2k words
a/n: congratulations, youâre a mother <3
diluc
Instead of feeling anxious about your due date being days away, you felt at peace. And it felt like the world was at peace, too. The sun illuminated your kitchen, warm beams of light caressing your body. You could hear birds chirping outside and the stray cat you fed was sitting on a barrel next to the window.
You contemplated going outside to bask in the breeze but opted to stay inside. Despite your pleasant mood, you couldnât help but feel like something was going to happen today. Your mind pondered the possibilities, skipping over the most obvious one.
Diluc was still asleep when you climbed out of bed. Some of the Knights kept him at the tavern extra late so you decided to let him rest.
You stood in front of the counter of your kitchen and reached up to pull a mug off a shelf. You had been drinking tea for the majority of your pregnancy and you couldnât wait until you could finally have a mug of coffee again. You hummed to yourself as you filled the kettle with water and placed it on the stove.
A sudden, abrupt feeling hit your body like a ton of bricks. The feeling made your body jerk and a gasp left your lips, your hand instinctively covering your baby bump. Your other hand swept across the counter and knocked the ceramic mug onto the ground, leaving the porcelain to break into a million pieces.
Your midwife had described that leading up to the birth of the twins, you might feel braxton hicks. But something inside of you was telling you that this wasnât just braxton hicks.
And your fears were correct when you felt something warm and wet running down your legs.
You screamed for your husband, panic rising up your throat. The comforting morning you had was thrown out the window as another contraction hit your body. âThis canât be happening,â You said to yourself. You were afraid to move, afraid to do anything, so all you could is yell for Diluc and pray that he heard you.
When Diluc finally heard you calling his name, he shot out of bed. He didnât even bother to put proper clothes or shoes on, running down the stairs in his pajama set.
âHey, hey,â Diluc said, shock and confusion written all over his face. âWhatâs going on?â
âThe babies,â You breathed out, âI think theyâre coming.â
You watched as the color drained from Dilucâs face. You werenât supposed to have the twins for another few days. Nothing was set up and Diluc had even given his staff the weekend off. âOh my god. Oh my god. What should we do? What should I do?â
Another contraction hit before you could answer, sending Diluc into another fit of hysteria. âYou need to go into town and get my midwife,â You shakily said, âLike, now.â
âAnd leave you alone? Oh god, what if you give birth right here?â
You stepped closer to Diluc and pulled on his arms, guiding his hands to your baby bump. âI need you to focus. We canât have both of us freaking out, okay?â Your husband nodded. âEverything is going to be fine but you need to get my midwife.â
Diluc nodded his head again, more firmly this time. His shaky hands led you to the couch where he knew you would be safe. He pressed a kiss to your forehead and bolted out the door, leaving you alone.
At the sound of the front door closing, you couldnât stop the tears welling in your eyes. You knew Diluc would be back with your midwife and everything would be fine, like you said moments before, but you couldnât stop the sheer terror that was creeping through your bones. Were you ready to be a mother? Could you give your babies the life they deserve? Too many questions flooded your mind and for the first time in months, you cried.
They return home within an hour and by then your tears have dried up. You were trying to focus on your breathing instead.
Diluc rushed to you, grateful that you were where he left you. âIs everything okay?â He asked quietly upon seeing your puffy eyes and red cheeks.
You forced a smile onto your lips and nodded, âEverythingâs okay.â
âWhere are we having this baby?â Your midwife said, interrupting the moment between you and Diluc. He stood up straight and motioned to the stairs.
âThe bedroom,â He told her. Your midwife headed upstairs, pulling a rolling chest behind her, and Diluc helped you stand up. His fingers squeezed your hips, âReady to have a baby?â
You threw your head over your shoulder, âTwo babies, âLuc.â
For a moment, Dilucâs calm demeanor vanished and you swore you could see a spark of panic in his eyes. But your husband instead just smiled sweetly and helped you walk up the stairs.
Labor was not what you expected. You assumed that when your water broke, you would have your babies moments after but as you laid in the middle of your bed, you realized that wasnât the case here. Contractions still hit your body every now and then but you were able to rest and even distract yourself from them.
âIâm bored,â You complained to Diluc, nuzzling closer to his warm body beside you.
âDo you want to play a card game?â Diluc asked. When you looked up to give him a deadpanned look, he put his hands up in defense. âWhat about a book?â
âAre you trying to make me even more bored?â
You wished you were able to leave the bed but as instructed by your midwife, you were on bed rest until the twins were born. Your midwife entered the bedroom again to check you and only gave you a sympathetic smile, âFour centimeters. Weâve got to get you up to ten.â
You groaned and threw your head back onto the pillow.
Your midwife left the room again and you sat up (as much as you could). You turned your body awkwardly so you could face Diluc, âWho do you think is going to come first?â
Diluc thought for a moment, âI think Clara will.â
You nodded in agreement, âOne of the twins is super active and the other isnât. I bet itâs Clara. Sheâs going to be fiery just like you.â
Around midnight your midwife checked you once more. Finally, you were almost ten centimeters dilated. Diluc moved off the bed and pulled up a chair next to it, instantly taking your hand in his. There was another twenty minutes before you felt a contraction that wracked your body. Your hand squeezed Dilucâs so hard he let out a yelp.
Your midwife sprung into action. She was at the foot of the bed in seconds, ready to guide you through the process. âLegs up, good, now just focus on me, okay? When you feel this next contraction, youâre going to push.â
Your chest was rapidly rising and falling and Diluc rubbed your thumb with his. And just like your midwife said, when the next contraction hit your body, you pushed.
The pain that ripped through your body was unlike anything you had felt before. It clouded your vision and you thought you couldnât breathe. âYouâre doing great,â Your midwife assured you, âOnce the head is out, the baby will slide out like butter.â
Out of curiosity, Diluc poked his head around the corner of the bed.
And what a horrible decision that was.
âOh my god,â Diluc mumbled, his face turning pale again. The grip around your hand became loose until his hand fully let go of yours. You heard a thump on the wooden floors and your mouth dropped.
Your midwife stared at your unconscious husband for a moment. âHe can wait,â She decided, turning back to you. Your eyes squeezed shut in pain and you gripped the bedsheet beside you. âI see a head,â She smiled. âReady again?â
You nodded your head before taking in a deep breath and pushing again. But there was no going back now and within moments of that push, you heard the little cries of a newborn baby. You wanted to stop and admire your baby but a gasp made you remember you werenât done.
âWhatâs going on?â Diluc said groggily, finally standing off the floor. He was rubbing his head and froze when he saw the mess on the bed.
âDonât pass out again,â Your midwife said sternly, âYou have a daughter to clean up.â
Daughter. Clara was born first like you and Diluc said. Your vision was blurry from tears, the sight of Diluc and Clara distorted.
âAlmost there,â Your midwife told you. After a few more minutes of strenuous pushing, relief flooded the lower half of your body. âAnd there he is.â
You tried to sit up but you were too weak. Two sets of cries could be heard and right now, that was music to your ears. Your son was placed on your chest and soon followed by your daughter. Your arms folded around them. Your midwife smiled as she cleaned up as much as she could before leaving the room to give you and Diluc some privacy.
âYou did it,â Diluc said. He was in awe and couldnât believe this was real life. The babies had tufts of red hair like himself but their nose was yours. Diluc wished he could photograph the sight in front of him. This was the start of your family.
kaeya
When Kaeya woke up in the early hours of the morning, he didnât understand why at first. The night was peaceful and the bed was more than comfortable. His eyes ghosted to the side to see you still fast asleep. The blanket was pulled up beneath your chin and silent breaths left your mouth. It was only when Kaeya shifted did he realize why he woke up.
The sheets were soaking wet, especially from your side of the bed.
Kaeyaâs hands gently shook you awake and you groaned, slowly opening your eyes. âLove, I think you had an accident.â
It took you a moment to register Kaeyaâs face in the dark. âWhat are you talking about?â You asked before feeling the wet sheets yourself. An embarrassed fluster crept onto your cheeks but before you could say anything, a pain crashed down on your body.
âWhatâs going on?â Kaeya asked, immediately alert to your sudden movement.
âI think my water broke,â You said quietly, rubbing your stomach to try and soothe the ache that was growing. âKaeya, itâs starting to hurt.â
âWhat is?â He was on his feet now, running to the other side of the bed to help you sit up. âIs it the baby?â
âI donât know,â You answered, âI think so. It hurts here.â You motioned to the area underneath your baby bump and frowned. Kaeya helped you get out of bed and change clothes.
âCan you walk?â You nodded. There were spouts of pain with periods of calmness and you were ready to take advantage of those. You and Kaeya werenât sure what to do. Fortunately, you had set up the guest bedroom a week ago. Unfortunately, your midwife was out of town this week.
âThis wasnât supposed to happen until next week,â You said, your voice shaking, âI donât want to have the baby yet.â
Kaeya chuckled, âThatâs not an option.â
Still dazed from your sleep, Kaeya led you to the guest bedroom and you sat on the edge of the bed. Your husband stripped the sheets off the other bed while you rested. Slowly, the fact you were going to have a baby that day was creeping into your mind. You were ready, you knew you were, but the thought was still scary. And your midwife wasnât around.
Kaeya came back to the bedroom and rubbed your back comfortingly. You were still sitting on the edge of the bed, stiff as a board, eyes squeezing shut and your body tensing when a contraction hit.
âCan you do it yourself?â
His words made you look up in shock. Your husband couldnât be suggesting you give birth without a guide, right? But when Kaeya looked back at you with a serious look, you felt your stomach drop.
âLook,â Kaeya took your hand in his, âYour midwife is out of town this week and I donât know anyone else in Mondstadt who knows how to deliver a baby. You read books on childbirth, youâll know what to do.â
You sucked in a deep breath. He was right - you did read a lot about labor and delivery. It would be hard without anyone there to help you but if your baby was coming, your baby was coming. Kaeya continued to rub your back as you contemplated your decision.
âIâll do it,â You said, âBut I need Jean.â
âWhat?â
âSheâs my best friend. If I canât have my midwife, then I want Jean.â
Kaeya knew it was useless to argue with you and the quicker he got Jean, the quicker you could get on with the process of labor.
âAlright, alright,â He said, defeated, âBut donât move.â
You promised him and Kaeya left to retrieve Jean. Alone in the house, you wandered the halls. Surprisingly, stretching your legs helped the pain slightly. You stopped outside of the door to your daughterâs nursery. There was a âCâ on the door and when you pushed the door open, you were met with a pastel pink wonderland.
There were photos of The Knights of Favonius on the walls and gifts from them littered the room. There was a stuffed rabbit from Amber and handmade clothes from Lisa. Even Diluc had gifted your baby a set of wooden blocks.
Your hand rubbed your baby bump gently, âSoon,â You said aloud. âSoon weâll meet each other.â
The door to your house opened quickly and inside rushed Jean and Kaeya. Your husband frowned at the sight of you in the nursery and put his hands on his hips, âYou promised me you wouldnât leave the guest room.â
You only shrugged your shoulders and smiled.
Jean looked disheveled. She was wearing her pajamas and her hair was down from her usual ponytail. But she wore a look of determination on her face and you knew you needed her by your side throughout everything.
Once you were back in bed, your labor progressed quickly. The time between your contractions was becoming shorter and shorter and it was hard to catch your breath. Sharp pains were rocketing down your spine and bubbling in your abdomen and you didnât know how you were going to survive this.
âJust breathe,â Jean said. She didnât know anything about childbirth but when Kaeya came banging on her door in a panic, she knew you needed her.
Since you were in charge of your own delivery, you had to check yourself often. It was becoming increasingly harder to do but you knew it was important. âI'm seven centimeters,â You told your company. When they looked at you with a blank expression, you said, âItâs going to happen soon.â
Kaeya whispered affirmations in your ear, trying to distract you from the pain as you waited around. Jean brought you a cold washcloth and placed it on your forehead. You sighed in relief and leaned back against the mountain of pillows. While Jean looked at the various things scattered around the room, Kaeya leaned closer to your face.
âYouâre a warrior,â He told you, his forehead almost touching yours. âWeâre almost there. Just think about holding little Calla.â
You groaned as another contraction hit your body. âIt just hurts so much.â
âI know, I know,â Kaeya pressed a kiss to your nose. You closed your eyes and tried to think about something relaxing. You knew you wouldnât be able to fall asleep, not with contractions wracking your body every few minutes at least.
For a while, you stayed like that. Jean and Kaeya talked quietly about work in the background, pausing to look at you when a contraction hit, and birds were beginning to chirp from outside. You imagined holding baby Calla in your arms with Kaeya beside you. He would be mesmerized by your daughter and you would be so, so in love. And maybe there would be more children down the road. A nice, big family with Kaeya sounded beautiful.
You were ripped from your daydream when a horrible contraction hit your body. It was unlike the others and your legs went numb. Kaeya was by your side in an instant, noticing the change in your reaction.
A sudden urge to push overwhelmed your body. âI canât do it,â You cried out, your hands trying to find something to grasp onto. Tears were streaming down your face and Kaeyaâs heart sank. He hated seeing you like this, especially since the cause of your sadness was from your own fears.
But instead of Kaeya speaking up, Jean rested her hands gently on yours. âLook at me,â She said softly. You sniffled and turned to face your friend, âYou can do this. Youâre ready and youâre strong. The pain is temporary but youâll have your baby forever.â
You nodded your head furiously and tried to zone into yourself. You repeated what your childbirth books said, waiting to push until you felt a contraction. Jean rushed around the room and Kaeya held your hand despite you crushing it.
âIs that her head?â Kaeya asked quickly, peering over your legs. He grinned and turned back to you, âAlmost there! You got this!â
You had to take a pause to take a deep breath. You felt like there was water in your lungs and you wondered how a human body could endure this much pain. When the next contraction hit, you pushed as hard as you could and squeezed down onto Kaeyaâs hand.
A rush of relief washed over your body like a tsunami. You were quick to reach down and pick up your baby, mouth agape that you did that all by yourself. The room was filled with silence until it wasnât, a tiny cry breaking the air.
Jean handed you a fluffy towel and you quickly wrapped Calla in it, wiping her eyes and nose. âCongratulations,â She said softly, âSheâs beautiful.â
âThank you.â The words tumbled from your mouth in a whisper.
Kaeya kissed your forehead, âIâm so proud of you.â
childe
âSheâs nesting,â Zhongli said matter-of-factly, âLike an animal.â
Truthfully, you were nesting. You wouldnât call it nesting, of course, but the way you were arranging your birthing room was eerily similar. Your baby was due any day now and you were getting anxious about things being perfect. Your midwife had already come by to set up her things and now it was time to set up your things.
A photo of you and Childe sat on the end table, next to a copy of your latest ultrasound. Three of Childeâs sweaters were thrown over the back of the bed and when Childe asked why you needed three, you couldnât give him a final answer.
After putting a candle down on the adjacent end table, you proudly rejoined the men in the living room.
âHowâs the nest coming, Birdie?â Childe grinned, moving over so you could sit beside him.
You rolled your eyes at your boyfriend, âItâs coming along great, thank you very much.â
Childe laughed and wrapped his arm around you. You were content, feeling calm and secure in the moment. You were ready to have your baby and you refused to let it consume you. You were lost in your thoughts when Childe shook you back to reality.
âAre you peeing on me?â He asked, a confused look on his face.
âWhat?â You exclaimed, looking down. Your pants were soaked from something, darkening them as well as the couch. You felt a sharp pain in your abdomen and your hand raced out to hold your baby bump, âWhoa, he just kicked me hard.â
Childe raised an eyebrow at your weird behavior. âAre you okay?â
You nodded and stood up, looking at the mess you made. âSorry, Iâll get a towel,â You said. Zhongli paid no mind, trying to understand that you were a heavily pregnant woman, while Childe continued to tease you from down the hall.
You reached for the towel in the bathroom and were met with another pain. You rubbed your belly, âItâs okay, Nikolai.â
Heading back to the living room, you wore a frown on your face. âIs everything okay?â Childe asked, taking the towel from you. His jokes had died off and him and Zhongli were looking at you with concern.
âUm, I donât think I peed myself,â You said quietly, âI donât feel good.â
Childe jumped to his feet, âWhatâs wrong?â His hand came up to caress your cheek as he watched you, trying to see if something was physically wrong. âAre you hurting?â
You managed a nod before another contraction hit your body. You gasped and held onto the bed of the couch for support. âThat really hurt.â
Thankfully Zhongli was a man with common sense. âAre you going into labor?â He asked, reaching out to hold onto your arms. âWhere does it hurt?â
âHere,â You said, pointing to your stomach.
Zhongli nodded firmly, âI see. Are you expecting a midwife?â
âWe are,â Childe answered, running a hand through his hair. âZhongli, can you stay here while I run and grab her?â
âCertainly.â
Childe turned to look at you and cupped your face again, âDonât stress, okay? Zhongli is going to be right here if anything happens. Iâll be back in no time.â Your boyfriend ran out the front door and you collapsed down onto the couch, breathing hard.
âCan I get you anything?â Zhongli asked, unsure of what to do. âWater?â
âIâm good,â You said, clenching your teeth. âCan you help me get to the bedroom?â
Zhongli nodded and you held onto his arm. You were trying to regulate your breathing but it was coming out in rough, short breaths instead. You stopped in your tracks when the pain came back, flowering itself inside of you. You groaned and leaned forward, Zhongli needed to wrap his arm around you to steady you.
He helped you in the bed and you instantly grabbed one of Childeâs sweatshirts off the bed. You hugged the fabric tightly and inhaled the comforting scent of your boyfriend. Zhongli paced the room, getting more concerned when your pain was only increasing.
But, thankfully, Childe and your midwife returned home quickly. Zhongli wished you the best and took his leave. You were still holding onto Childeâs sweatshirt.
Your midwife checked you and you were only three centimeters dilated. âI think this is going to be a slow process,â She said sympathetically, âIs there anything you want to do in the meantime?â
âCan I take a bath?â You asked, your ears perking up.
She nodded, âJust call for me if needed.â
Childe helped you out of the bed and kissed the top of your head before helping you to the bathroom. He filled the bath and stripped your clothes, helping you into the tub. Childe sat on the toilet, an excited grin on his face.
âWhat are you smiling about?â You asked, a smile creeping onto your lips too.
âJust thinking about how weâll have a baby to hold tonight,â He said. âTeucer is going to be so excited when he hears.â
You hummed in response and leaned back, submerging your body fully in the water. Surprisingly, being in the water helped with your pain. You still felt contractions but they werenât as breathtaking in the bath. You stayed in the bath for what seemed like hours.
Suddenly, something snapped inside of you. âOh, shit,â You cried out, hunching forward. âGet the midwife, Childe!â
Your boyfriend shot off his feet to grab your midwife while you cried out again. She hurried into the bathroom and bent down to you. âIâm going to check you.â Her face paled slightly after removing her fingers, âYou need to give birth now.â
âWhat?â You nearly screamed, âRight now?â
âThe bath must have sped up the process,â Your midwife explained. You looked at Childe and panic coursed through your eyes. You tried to sit up straight, ready to get out of the bath, but your midwife stopped you. âThereâs really no time to dry off and move to the bed. Youâll have to give birth here.â
Your eyes widened, âBut Iâm in the bath!â
âItâs safest this way,â She said. Your midwife instructed Childe to get some things and when he came back, he sat by the edge of the tub and held your hand. âYouâll need to push the next time you feel a contraction.â
A feeling of upset was bubbling in your throat, âBut...but everything is in the bedroom.â You thought about the photos and the candle and the sweatshirts and felt tears welling in your eyes. You wanted to have your baby in the bedroom, not here.
Childe kissed your fingertips, catching your attention. âIâm sorry this wasnât your plan,â He said, âBut you need to listen to your midwife. You want to meet Nikolai, right?â
You nodded, a few tears falling loose. âI do,â You said.
âThen letâs have a baby.â
Childe wrapped his hand tightly around yours and interlocked your fingers. He squeezed it comfortingly and didnât even flinch when your contraction hit and you nearly broke his fingers. You let out a string of curses, mostly towards Childe, and pushed.
âThis sucks! This really sucks!â You cried out, wondering how you were going to get through this.
âYou can do it!â Childe assured you.
âAlmost there,â Your midwife said, âI see the head.â
It took one more contraction for your son to be born. Immediately, he was placed on your chest and you had to shake your head to focus on reality. âOh my god,â You muttered, turning to look at Childe. He was grinning ear to ear.
Your midwife wrapped the baby in a towel, cleaning his nose and mouth, before handing him to Childe. She helped you get out of the bath and you almost fell over, your legs feeling like jelly. She wrapped a bigger towel around you and as you gazed behind her, all you could see was the beautiful way Childe looked down at your son.
zhongli
âWatch out, pregnant woman coming through!â
Xinqiu and Xiangling held onto your arms as Chongyun cleared a path through the crowd. Like usual, the teenagers were being your honorary protectors while Zhongli was at work. They took you to the Wanmin Restaurant and Xiangling disappeared momentarily to bring out platters of food.
Your midwife told you that it was best for you to stay home, since your due date was at the end of the week, but you thought one last outing with the kids couldnât hurt.
âYouâre getting bigger each time you come around,â Chef Mao called through the opening of the storefront.
You laughed, âWell, Iâm almost at term!â
Xiangling piled your plate high with food, âMore for the baby.â Frankly, it was nice being pampered by the teenagers like this. They were selfless, especially towards your unborn baby, and everyday they surprised you.
You were shoving a dumpling in your mouth when an odd feeling struck your abdomen and water gushed onto your pants, the seat, and the ground. Based on your facial expression, the kids knew something was wrong.
âWhatâs happening?â Xinqiu asked.
âI think my water just broke,â You told him, groaning as a harsh pain swept over you.
âOh, no.â
In that moment, you were reminded that despite their maturity, they were still children. Panic spread throughout the three of them and they began debating what to do with you.
âLetâs bring her to the infirmary!â Xiangling argued.
âWhy would we do that? Letâs bring her home!â Xingqiu shot back.
You held back another groan, âGuys, donât fight about this.â
But they didnât seem to hear you. Chongyunâs eyes flickered back and forth before running a hand through his hair, âI think you should bring Y/N home and Iâll get Zhongli.â
âWe need to go now,â You said. Xiangling and Xingqiu held onto your arms like before and immediately started towards your house. Chongyun took off in the opposite direction. âFuck, this hurts,â You muttered, stopping to ride out a contraction. âExcuse my language.â
âItâs okay, we know youâre in pain,â Xiangling says.
Finally, the teenagers get you home and you sit down on the couch. You would wait to move to the bedroom when Zhongli came home. You breathed deeply and Xinqiu spoke up, âLook on the bright side, itâs only going to get worse from here. So this canât be that bad, right?â
Xiangling glared daggers at him, âI thought you were smart.â
You couldnât help but laugh at their banter. The pain you were experiencing was worse than anything you had ever felt in your life but with the kids nearby, the pain was bearable. They would make great siblings to your daughter.
Chongyun and Zhongli burst through the front door, startling you. Your midwife was right behind them. Your head was hanging low and you were clenching your jaw each time a contraction hit. His large hands rested on your back and he rubbed your shoulders, âThank you, kids. Iâve got it from here.â
âGood luck!â Xiangling beamed before ushering the two boys out the door with her.
Zhongli lifted you up by your shoulders and his heart nearly broke when he saw your face. Your eyes were wet and puffy and your nose was already stuffy. Any calmness you had was gone as pure panic and pain overtook your senses.
âCan you stand?â He asked, wanting to move you to the bedroom. You shook your head and Zhongli managed to pick up your body, carrying you to the bedroom. He helped you change before you climbed into the bed, feeling dazed and scared at the same time.
Your body felt weak and you hadnât even begun giving birth. Your midwife was talking to you but you couldnât seem to pay attention.
âIâll need your help,â She said to Zhongli, âYouâll need to grab her leg and hold it steady.â He nodded and did as told. Your midwife grabbed your other leg and you barely looked up. You could feel the pain and you knew what was going on, but you couldnât comprehend it. The pain was unbearable but you did what your body was telling you.
A gasp left your mouth and Zhongli said something to you. There was pressure and pain, a lot of pain, and then suddenly it was gone. The last thing you saw before your vision went black was the blurry silhouette of your baby.
When you came to, the room was quiet. Your eyes adjusted to the light and you looked around before stopping on your husband. Zhongli sat in the rocking chair in the corner of the bedroom, holding a little bundle in your arms.
âHey,â You said, your voice hoarse and low. Zhongli looked up and immediately came over to you. Without words, your baby was placed in your arms. âSheâs so tiny.â
âI was so worried,â Zhongli said, brushing your hair back to press a kiss to your forehead. âHow do you feel?â
âSore and tired and achy.â
Zhongli slid into the bed next to you and wrapped his arms around your frame, leaning his chin on your shoulder. âShe has your nose,â He whispered. Despite having a traumatic labor, it was all worth it.
Unlikely Companions (Daryl Dixon x Female reader/ PLATONIC! Carl x Reader) PART 2 !
Part 1: Unlikely Companions 1
here it is! Part 2. its a bit shorter but i hope you like it! Might make a part 3 :) heheheh.
âOh, my sweet girl. I got you, I got youâ Daryl was whispering sweet nothings and comfort into her ear. â(Y/N)â She looked up when a familiar voice called out for her. Two smaller arms wrapped around her neck and she looked back into Carls eyes. He was crying as well. Daryl looked very surprised, (and a bit angry) as Carl pushed him back to hug (Y/N). âIâm sorry I left youâ He sobbed out. âIts okay, really Iâm fineâ It was hard being convincingly fine, when she was covered in blood with her shirt, and pants ripped open, and after just crying her eyes out.
âWe should head back, you need to be checked out by Hershelâ Rick spoke up. All the boys nodded. Daryl stood up and helped her up. When she was standing again, she noticed how bare she was. Her entire shirt was open, and bra was pushed down a bit. Her pants were unbuttoned and showed the front of her panties. âOi! Quit yaâ starrinâ! Fuckinâ perverts!â Daryl shouted and moved so he was blocking the guys view on her. A choir of âsorryâ came from the guys. They turned around and let Daryl help her get dressed. âCan you get my backpack? Itâs the orange by the tree?â
âWhy cant you get it yourself?â It sounded harsh and mean, but she knew better. She knew that this was his way of checking if she was hurt. âOkay, promise not to freak out too muchâ It was a stupid question, he was going to freak out even if she told him she broke her nail to hard. He nodded. âOne of the guys might have stabbed me in the thigh, just a little bit though!â
âWhat!â
âYou promised not to freak out!â She huffed out and moved her hand, that had been covering her wound. Blood was covering her hand. It didnât really hurt, and she hadnât noticed it until they stood up, that was mostly because adrenaline was still pumping through her body. She knew that when that died down, her bruises and wounds would hurt like a bitch. âSit back downâ He, carefully, pushed her down again and walked over to her bag. When he handed it to her she had buttoned up her pants. She fished out an hoodie. âCan the others see me?â She asked him, nervous about a group of strangers seeing her half naked. âNah, I would beatâ them downâ if they peaked. Donât yaâ worryââ He still stood in front of her and shielded her body. He looked back to make sure they werenât looking, and yeah. They wouldnât dare. But when his head turned back to her, his heart broke. She had taken of her ruined shirt and was about to put on her hoodie. But her soft skin was littered in bruises and scars, bruises and scars that werenât there when they last saw each other.
He was going ask about the bruises, but she quickly covered the body with her hoodie, or more accurately, his hoodie. A smirked made it way on his (gorgeous) lips. The hoodie reached her down to her knees. âCome on, lets get you checked outâ. He threw her bag across his shoulder, with his crossbow. (Y/N) was getting up, winching when she put her weight on her injured thigh. A gasp escaped her lips when she felt his arms wrap up under her thighs and behind her back, hoisting her up into a bridal style carry. (Y/N) didnât protest and just let him do his thing, she knew he needed to take care of her.
When they got out of the forest, she saw a beautiful farm house with large acres. They walked over to the farm house. âHeyâ She looked down and was met with Carl looking up at her. âHey big manâ He didnât say anything else, just walked by her. âCarl!â Lori shouted and ran up to him. She hugged him and reached for Rick, âWhat happened?â When her eyes landed at (Y/N), âWho is that?â
âHey, Iâm (Y/N). Me and Carl have been camping together for- Will you please let me talk to her?â Daryl didnât let her stay and chit chat with Lori. He walked straight pass her and into the house. âNope, ya gotta get some medical help. Ya can talk laterâ. (Y/N) wayed back with an apologetic smile, to the very confused group of people. âHershel! Where ya at!â. And old man walked out of what she assumed was the kitchen. He had an very annoyed look, until he saw her. âWho is this?â
âMy girl, and she needs your treatmentâ Daryl didnât let him answer and just walked into the room Carl had been staying inn when he got shot and laid her down on the bed. Hershel realized the importance of it when he saw blood on her hands and pants and the beginning of a huge bruise on her collar. âWhat happenedâ.
âSome assholes attacked her, she got stabbed and god knows whatâ Daryl gruffed out. âWhere is the wound?â Hershel calmly asked, getting some equipment from a drawer. âOn her thighâ
âLuckily that limits the damage, none of your organs are compromisedâ He sat down on a chair by the bed. Daryl was standing on the other side, holding her hand. âNow I am going to have to cut off your pants, pushing them down will only worsen the injury Iâm afraidâ She nodded, letting him do what ever just to heal her. Hershel carefully gut open her pants. Daryl didnât like him having a knife so close too her skin, but bit back his complaints and worries. The stitching up went fine, though Daryl needed to hold her thigh down so she wasnât squirming to much.
Even with the pain killers, her wound hurt, it hurt a lot! After the stitching, he had examined her head, concluding she had a concussion and a broken rib. Daryl had held her hand through the entire time. Never letting go. The darkness had reached the farm and Daryl and (Y/N) was huddled around a small campfire. She was laying in his arm crook, his arms and a blanket wrapped around her. It was silent between them, few words exchanged. But he would often place a kiss on her head and rub her arms and hands.
They only got a few minutes alone, until most of the group came and sat around the campfire with them. âSorry, we wanted to let you guys have some time together, but we needed to ask you some question and get to know you a bitâ Rick sat on the opposite side of them. Carl and Lori on either side of him. âI get that, I do! Iâm an open book, ask away!â She wanted to seem as warm and welcoming as possible, knowing that Daryl was staring daggers at everyone of them. He pulled her closer and wrapped his arms tighter around her, almost using his arms to protect her.
âBefore you all interrogate her, I just wanna thank you. Carl told me everything, and, and you saved his lifeâ Lori was tearing up. âI want to thank you for saving him and taking care of him. For returning him back to us. Thank youâ Rick nodded along, saying a thank you as well. âCan I ask a question?â Glenn was speaking up now. âI donât mean to be rude, but how are you together? You are so, different!â This made her chuckle. It was true, they were very different. âWell, we met at the diner I was working at, and I donât know. We just kind of clickedâ She looked up at Daryl, smiling up at him. âFor me it was love at first sightâ.
As the night continued, (Y/N) answered all their questions and asked her own. Even though she couldnât talk to Carl alone, she sent him some smiles through the conversation. He would always grin back. But she felt her eyelids becoming heavier and heavier. For the first time since the new world begin, she could sleep peacefully. She was never afraid when Daryl was holding her.
âShhhh, (Y/N) is sleepingâ Carl hushed everyone when they got a bit louder. They all looed over at her and sure enough, there she was; looking like an angel. âShe didnât sleep much when we were out, never more than three hoursâ
âReckless womanâ Daryl muttered out, wrapping the poncho tighter around her. He saw her shivering and saw the campfire dying down. âIâll go get more woodâ He didnât allow anyone say anything, he just carefully lied her down (using his west as a pillow and slipped it under her head).
When Daryl disappears into the darkness, whimpering filled the camp. âIs she having a nightmare?â Lori asked. âN-no, get awayâ (Y/N)âs sleepy voice whispered out. âShould we go and get Daryl-â Carl stood up and walked over to her. âShe did this last night, I can stop itâ Everybody looked at Carl confused, and Lori felt her motherly protective side kick inn when Carl laid down next to (YN). She had to remind herself that too Carl she wasnât a stranger and wasnât a threat to any of them.
âWhat are you doing?â Rick whispered out, being very surprised when Carl threw his arms around her waist and snuggled into her back. Her whimpering slowly calmed down and eventually died down. No body could deny the sweetness of the moment between the two, it was clearly Carl had become very attached to her after their days in the woods.
âOi! The hell is going on hereâ The sweet moment was cut short when Daryl retuned. He eyed Carl suspiciously as he stirred in the fire and added more wood planks. âShe had a nightmareâ Carlâs voice was muffled with her back. âI calmed her downâ. Daryl felt his heart shouting at him, shouting for him to hold her and make sure she was okay. But there was something in the way, or more someone.
âMove kidâ Daryl kicked at his feet, becoming tired of the child separating him from his love. Carl refused, snuggling even further into her back. Daryl was about to pull him off her when she turned around. She was still asleep but wrapped her arms around Carl and pulled her into him. Carl looked surprised but allowed her to pull him closer. Daryl huffed out but sat down next to her. His hands could not keep off of her and caressed her arm and back.
âIts getting late, we should head to bed. Como on carlâ Fake snores could be heard from the young boy, hoping he could stay here if they thought he was sleeping. It didnât work. âNoooooâ Rick pulled him up and carried him off, not without getting an ear full of complaint from the young boy. The incident woke her up, she looked around startled. Forgetting where she was. She sat up abruptly fearing the worst when she felt Carl being pulled away from her arms, reaching for her bow. âIts alright (Y/N), yar safeâ Daryl reminded her that she was safe, no longer in the woods. She sank back down into his arms. âGo back to sleep baby, your safeâ He reassured her and rubbed her back, calming her down, but she couldnât sleep. Her body was so used to only three- or four-hours naps.
They both walked back to his tent, the wind picking up and they needed âwallsâ to protect them from the cold winds. It was pretty small, so they had to huddle close together to fit on the small cot. She was practically laying on top of him (not that any of them mind). âGod, I still canât believe youâre hereâ Daryl whispered into the darkness. Her head was laying on his chest, being lulled into sleep by his steady heartbeat. âWhen it started, I went to your campus. But it was a mess, I feared the worstâ She could hear his voice breaking. She lifted her head. (Y/N) knew to well what he talked about. When she left it was a mess. Dead everywhere. She barely made it out herself. Still amazed that she survived that.
âDonât think about it, think about how Iâm here! Were together and I am never leaving youâ She was stroking his cheek, he nuzzled into her hand. âI know, I know. But, (Y/N), baby, I need to know. What happened to you before you met Carlâ He was scared to ask, scared to hear about how she got her scars and bruises. She took a deep breath and told about how it took her a week to escape her dorm. Because the halls were filled with the dead, she was alone, starving, until she finally broke out. It costed her a lot, having too run through broken glass, and being pushed and pull by hundreds of hundreds of hands. Tears welled up in her eyes at the memory of having too drive her knifes and arrows into her friends and teachers. âCome herâ sweet girlâ Daryl pulled her square against his chest. Rubbing her back. âIt felt good to take care of Carlâ She admitted. âTo take care of someone and not being forced to kill was goodâ She would often take care of those around her, taking a motherly role. Daryl knew this, remembering how she would often pack him lunch, make sure he slept and getting him to take care of her.
âBut when those guys attacked usâ She held back a sob. âI was so scared Daryl. They held me down, a-andâ she couldnât finish the sentence. Daryl pulled her even closer, anger building up at the memory of finding them holding his girl down. âIf you hadnât come, if they had caught up to Carl, god, I cant think of what would have happened if they had gotten us bothâ Tears were rolling down her face.
âbaby, we canât thinâ too much aboutâ it. It will drive usâ crazyâ Daryl could not stand the thought about what would have happened. âWe need to sleepâ He needed her to sleep. âI cantâ He looked down at her questioning. She didnât meet his gaze. âIâm afraidâ His heart broke for the tenth time that day. âYa need to sleepâ, Carl told me yaâ havenât slept good- so I will stay up and watch out, okay?â She was hesitant but agreed. Feeling safer knowing that he was watching over her, thatâs how she was able to fall asleep at the fire.
âI will stay up for ya, stay up forever if I have toâ
omg! i just found that you had to make a new blog haha! I wanted to resubmit my request for percy x clearsighted mortal! reader headcanons! thank you!
percy jackson x mortal!reader hcâs
pairing â percy jackson x gn!clear sighted mortal!reader
genre â headcanons; bulleted scenarios; fluff; crack; light angst but not
warnings â none
so basically you just replace rachel in the series and play the role she did (minus the oracle stuff, she can still take care of that)
this way we donât have that lowkey unnecessary plot line of rachel crushing unrequitedly on percy for like one (1) book
except I like the idea that you would have known percy for longer (the best part about percabeth was the slow burn <3)
so letâs say you went to yancy academy with him and grover and you saw through the mist too but because you ARE the main character and this is your origin story, you wrote it off and continued with your life, ignoring all these other strange things that happened to you
UNTIL BOOK 3
hard to ignore a bunch of skeletons chasing some kid through a building and he slashed a sword through you-
hold on
âpercy???â
âoh,,,,, hi,,,,â
ây/n.â
ây/n, right. nice to see you.â
âuh yeah. um whyâd you try and stab me and why tf didnât it work?â
awks lols
so yeah percy was kind of shocked by that and he tried to explain but then the skeletons showed up again and you had to cover for him so he could escape
âlook I have to go but I promise Iâll explain it some other time!â
âbro wtf no donât leave me hangingâ
he left you hanging
but at least you didnât die
so anyways you didnât see him until a few months later when you were at the orientation day at school and who should show up but the boy from your old school who tried to kill you?
âomg haha y/n so weird to see you again lolz gtgâ my boy was blushing
had you always looked this pretty and why was it only hitting him now
âyeah buddy look you owe me an explanation, but also I think thereâs some more weird creatures here who are after youâ
and so yâall ended up having to run away from the empousai
percy couldnât hold back his blush when you wrote your number on his arm
annabeth teased him relentlessly (bc I love annabeth with my whole heart and I believe she deserves better than a jealousy love triangle plot)
you were extremely disgruntled at being left without an explanation again
but luckily when they needed someone to guide them through the labyrinth, percy knew just who to call
annabeth was snappish with you at first, mainly bc she was disgruntled at needing to ask a mortal for help, but also bc she was really freaked about losing authority and control for her quest
esp the child of Athena line of the prophecy
her confidence was dwindling but luckily you with your clear sight could see right through her
while percy was sleeping and you couldnât fall asleep, you heard annabeth shifting around
so you asked her what was wrong and in her vulnerable state, she confided in you
you gave her an effective albeit slightly confused pep talk
you didnât really have much context to go off of but you made it work
#newbestiesalert
âyou know, I think he likes you.â
âomfg annabeth stopppp I donât see him like that though đđđđâ
clown
percy was very confused when he woke up but you two didnât care to fill him in
âgirls bond, percy, deal with it.â
anyways i think you two would have had tension in the last olympian
like you kissed him before he went off with beckendorf (rip)
and then there was just a lot of glances, shy smiles, angst, emotions, and he kissed you at the end of it all
onto the headcanons because this has gone on long enough
will do his best to keep you separated from the demigod lifestyle because he knows how dangerous it is
you're like the one shining piece of normalcy he has in his life
i picture like a peter parker + ned leeds situation where he's spiderman and you're like 'the guy in the chair'
you see a monster or something sus going on and alert him and he'll take care of it
you visit camp sometimes too but you don't spend a whole lot of time there because, well, you don't have to worry about dying
plus school and you don't want to intrude on that part of his life
besides no matter how many monsters you've seen, you'll never be able to get used to it
sally absolutely adores you
she lets you stay with her and paul when percy has to go do his demigod duties and you get worried
estelle absolutely adores you as well
you're literally her favourite person in the world at this point
she cries whenever you leave her
but after percy "retires" so to speak, and has to do college and stuff, it's like you both have all the time in the world
you help him live a normal life and he will do whatever he can to protect it
Mate. C. San. [Part 2}
Werewolf!San x fem!reader WC: 1.9k Warnings: implied mentions of abuse. let me know if I missed anything.
series masterlist | main masterlist Previous Part | Next Part
âSo what are we gonna do with her?â Yunho asked as he looked over at you, who sat patiently in the living room, curiously looking around at the electric room. âWe canât just send her back home, she ran awayâ San was quick to point out. Hongjoong let out a stressed sigh, looking over you while in deep thought.
San was nervous as he watched his alpha wage a mental war on what to do. Of course he wanted you to stay, you were his mate and having you around would be heaven for him, but he didnât want you to stay just for his selfish reasons. He was worried about what would happen to you if you were to go back. In the months he would watch you from afar, one of the first things he picked up on was your fathers explosive temper and he would be damned if he sent you back knowing what was waiting for you.
âYour mate, your choiceâ Hongjoong finally said, looking at San and San only. It had caught him and everyone else off guard, not expecting an answer like that from their alpha. âIf you want her to stay then she stays, but sheâs your responsibility.â âIâm not a dogâ you said in a hushed voice with a pout. The pack quickly turned to you, a sudden realization that you could hear them blatantly talking about you washing over them.
âI didnât mean it like thatâ Hongjoong said with an apologetic smile, âI just need San to know heâs responsible for taking care of you while your here- wait that still sounds bad- I-â Hongjoong was cut off by the sound of your angelic laughter. San could feel his heart swell at the beautiful sound, watching as your eyes crinkled with laughter, a beautiful smile taking over your face. After you stopped laughing, you looked at San, a bright smile still on your face as you spoke, âIâm not asking for you to take me in, thatâs too much of me to ask of you. I will just go down to the village, and-â âNo!â San blurted out, âI mean, itâs not too much, weâd love to have you stay, right boys?â The rest of the pack was quick to nod with reassuring smiles. They knew how much this meant to San, despite not knowing what it was like to have a mate yet, they knew having you close was important to him.
San took a step forward, a small smile on his face as he took your hand. The small action had your heart fluttering and your head swirling. What was with this guy? âStay, please.â It was a soft spoken request, one of genuine meaning, and you couldnât find it in yourself to say no.
That was two weeks ago. You had spent two week living with the pack and you had enjoyed every second of it. The boys were very welcoming, San the most so, and they made you feel right at home, more than you had ever felt when you were living with your family. It was a bit odd living with werewolves at first, only knowing what you had been told from ghost stories, and you were quick to learn that everything you did know was false. They boys were very patient with you, answering any questions you had and explaining anything you didnât understand. One thing that was never brought up though was mates. San knew he should tell you, and the sooner the better. He was just worried about how you would take it, worried about if you would accept the bond or not.
âHey Sanâ you spoke cheerily as you skipped into the kitchen. âHey Y/n- whoa, what happened to youâ he asked. You were covered head to toe in dirt, your hair practically fit to be a bird's nest, and a small cut on your cheek. San was in front of you in a second, hand on your arms as his eyes scanned you up and down for any more cuts or possible injuries.
âIâm fineâ you dismissed, ignoring the way your heart fluttered at how caring he was towards you, swatting him away with a light laugh but it did nothing to ease his worry. âNo you're not- hey! Get back here! You need to clean up that cut or itâll get infected!â
He followed you as you went over to the pantry to look for a good snack, after all the roughhousing you did with the boys, you were whipped. They had asked for a simple race at first, effectively pulling you away from your book. One race turned into three and after the third you insisted they were cheating, using their werewolf powers and what not. Well apparently Wooyoung doesnât take kindly to being called a cheater, (softly) tackling you to the ground which quickly turned into a group wrestling match, hence your current state.
Before you knew what was happening, you were being pulled away from the pantry, being tossed over Sanâs shoulder like a rag doll as he carried you out of the kitchen. âHey-â âgo clean yourself up and Iâll make you soup.â You paused your struggle for a moment, soup did sound good. â...What kind of soupâ âchicken noodleâ âdeal.â
San gently placed you down in front of the bathroom door, leaving his hands lingering on you arms for a moment. He allowed himself to admire you in that moment, even in this disheveled state, you were still the most beautiful person he had ever laid eyes on. His intense gaze was met back by your soft eyes staring up at him with absolute adoration. An eruption of butterflies bursting into your stomach as you grew shy under his gaze, something that has never happened to you before, ever.
Quickly advertising your gaze, you rushed into the bathroom as heat rushed to your cheeks. âIâm expecting the best soup Choiâ you tried your best to play off your embarrassment. You shut the bathroom door before he got the chance to respond. He stood there dumbfounded with a goofy smile on his face as he realized, he just made you blush. A sense of pride ripped through his chest and an almost childlike giggle left his lips. âOf course Y/l/nâ you could hear the smirk on his lip, which only made you groan in embarrassment. What was happening to you?
--
A few days later, you sat under a tree near the house with a book Yeosang had recommended to you. It was quite good, not something you wouldâve picked up on your own but you certainly werenât able to put it down. It was nice and peaceful under the tree, it was familiar yet so different to when you used to sit under your tree back home. Back then you were trying to escape the hectic world you lived in, now you were simply soaking in peace and enjoying life the way you were meant to. It was nice to have a truly relaxing moment, not feeling like you had to always look over your shoulder to make sure you were alone.
San stood, leaning against the doorframe as he watched you with a smile. It was nice for him to see you so relaxed, and his heart swelled knowing you felt so at peace at his home- well it was technically your home too now. Just another reason for Sanâs heart to fill with joy. God how he loved you, he just wished he could tell you⊠What was that?
Sanâs thoughts were cut off when a chorus of barking sounded through the forest. Hounds. His eyes widened at the realization, rushing to get you into the house. âSan- whatâs happening, is everything okay?â You asked as San carefully pulled you up, pulling you hastily into the house. San didnât respond, too wrapped up in his own head to hear you right now. His only thought was keeping you safe.
âSan'' You called out again, stopping as you two reached the living room, forcing San to stop too. Thatâs when he snapped out of it, turning to you with the best reassuring smile he could muster up, but you could tell something was wrong.
âWhatâs wrong?â San let out a shaky breath, looking into your eyes just to calm himself down. âI heard houndsâŠâ Hounds? Oh no. Your face soon morphed into one much similar to Sanâs when he had first heard the noise, eyes wide and fearful, mouth parting in shock. âO-okay, what do we do? '' You asked despite your fear, trying your hardest not to freak out, that was the last thing either of you needed right now. Before San could answer Yunho and Yeosang busted through the door, looking around frantically before their eyes landed on you. âYou need to hide, the hounds-â âWe know Sang. Did you ever fix the ladder to the attic? '' Yeosang nodded quickly, taking that as his cue to lead the both of you upstairs.
âJust up hereâ Yunho said as he pulled the hatch and stairs down, leading you forward. You looked back at San for a second and he felt himself wanting to pull you into his chest at that very moment. Your eyes full of fear, your shaky hands holding on to the ladder as you looked to him for comfort, for reassurance that everything would be okay. It hurt when the only thing he could do was give you a smile and nod. Strangely, you felt as though it wasnât enough, wanting him to come with you and hold you until everything quieted back down. Despite that, you turned back around, crawling up into the attic with a terrible feeling in your chest.
âWhat do we do now?â Yunho asked after shutting the hatch to the attic, keeping his voice low so that you couldnât hear. âWe go warn the other, and be ready for when they get hereâ San said, his eyes not moving from the hatch where you just disappeared. âWe- we wonât have to fight right?â âHopefully notâŠâ
--
After they had warned the others, Hongjoong was quick to come up with a plan in true alpha fashion. Everyone was to stay inside and just go about their business. If the hounds did end up at their place (which was highly likely) Hongjoong would talk to whoever was in charge and try his best to defuse the situation. Violence was the last resort, it always was and Hongjoong made sure everyone knew that.
San physically could not sit still while they waited. All he could think about was you up in the attic all alone. All he wanted was to be up there with you, but if something bad were to happen, he needed to be down here, with his pack.
The hounds were now right outside, many scratching at the door to get in. The room stank of anxiety and it was evident on everyone's face. San nearly jumped out of his skin when the distinct, loud knocks came from the door. âDonât worryâ was all Hongjoong said before nonchalantly opening the door.
âSir Wangâ Hongjoong greeted the fancily dressed guard almost as if greeting an old friend. âHongjoong, itâs been awhileâ âthat it has. May I ask why you brought a barrage of hounds to my home? Did we do something wrong?â âWell you tell me. Weâre looking for Lord Y/l/nâs daughter, Lady Y/n. You wouldnât happen to know where she is, would you?â
Opposites Attract (Paul Lahote x Reader) Chapter 3
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Warnings: Swearing
Word Countâ 2.1k
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Your POV-
They were running at a speed that seemed impossible, their size alone, impossible. The shear beauty of the animal, breath taking. This wasnât the first time youâd dreamt of giant wolves. They visited your dreams frequently, leaving you with all sorts of un answered questions, leaving you the next day, searching âWhat does seeing giant wolves in your dreams mean?â Yup, you were that kinda girl. You thought there was an answer for everything, and there probably was, but you werenât going to find the answer on google search.Â
You donât know how long youâd been in the car for. All you knew was you were in pain, then it seemed to ease and a sense of comfort washed over you. Your head felt as if it were floating, snuggled into something warm and soft. A pillow perhaps? You didnât open your eyes to check, the pain in your abdomen and now across your whole body blinding, youâd woken a few times with a jolt, and then you passed out again.Â
The next time you woke up you werenât moving at all, which you were grateful for, the pain mixed with the motion of a moving vehicle didnât do anything for your stomach, travel sickness was the bane of your life. Instead you found yourself in a room, the blinds drawn closed, the door shut, your body, in different clothes. A mens t-shirt? When did you get changed? Where were you? You looked around in a daze, sitting up slightly from the comfort of the pale yellow duvet set. Wooden log walls, photo frames scattered on every surface, subtle lighting and a wall lined with books, the smell of home cooking wafting through from the kitchen. You were in Emily and Samâs guest room, how did you know this? Well for one all of the frames had pictures of the happy couple in, two, youâd stayed over once before, back when youâd been caught in a freak storm with Leah while on the beach. You vaguely remembered the place. You didnât come over often, what with Leah and Sams history, that and as much as you liked Paul, sometimes youâd be nervous to bump into him. Paul! Speaking of Paul, you groaned and flopped back into the fluffy bed sheets. Paul was at the hotel when the pain started⊠where was he now? Did he drive with you back home?Â
You were about to get up when Leah came bounding through the door. âOh good I thought I could hear you awake in here.â She grinned at you. âYou look like youâre feeling much better!â You pat the space beside you and Leah climbed in snuggling up to your side.Â
âSo, on a scale of one to ten how bad was it.â The big âItâ being how bad was the show in front of your long term crush. Leah shrugged as she looked at you.Â
âNothing was baddd⊠everyone was just worried about you, you seemed to be in some serious pain, hence why we thought it best to cut the trip short, itâs probably better that were home, it was early hours when we got here so Sam said we could just crash at his.â You raised your eye at you best friend. She was being awfully calm about the whole situation. She said Sams name in a sentence and didnât get herself worked up. You looked down at yourself.Â
âAnd the clothes? Or lack there ofâŠ.â Thatâs when Leah grinned. You didnât like the way she was looking at you. You inhaled the scent that was on the shirt. Sandel wood and aftershave, a hint of sea salt probably from the misty air outside.Â
âThatâs Pauls t-shirt Y/Nâ Your eyes went wide and you knew you were blushing.. did that mean he had undressed you. Leah noticed the panic in your eyes.
âBefore you get worked up he just leant the t-shirt knowing youâd be uncomfortable in your dress, I changed you.â You audibly gave a sigh of relief, not knowing how youâd react if the guy youâd been in love with since second grade had finally seen you in your underwear. âHe stayed in here with you last night you know, to make sure you were okay. He wouldnât leave.â Leah was now proper up on one arm looking at you. You didnât know what to make of it. You didnât think Paul had even known you existed⊠You were taken from your train of thought when something started dinging. The mobile on the bedside table started beeping as texts came through one by one. Oh god, you hoped Leah hadnât told your parents about your episode at the hotel, the last thing you needed was for them to worry. However, you realised when you picked it up, it wasnât your phone.Â
The screensaver was a picture of the guys from the res, all goofing around, it looked like it had actually been taken in Emilys kitchen. It had to be one of the guys. You realised it was Paulâs after remembering what Leah had said about him staying for some of the night. He must have forgotten it when he left. You didnât mean to see the message but it automatically came up on screen when you tilted the Iphone in your hand.
âSuch a shame we had to cancel our date last night handsome, still on for tonight?â There were a bunch of emojis next to the text, the purple devil, aubergine, water droplets. You didnât have to be a genius to figure out whoever this girl was motives were. At first you were embarrassed, to the point where your mouth was kinda slack and Leah was asking you what was wrong. Then you were pissed.Â
âHeâs such a dick, honestly. I donât know why this makes him a dick, iâm just so mad. I know Iâm not the prettiest, or the funniest, or most talented or anything but jesus christ I wish he would just notice me for once instead of these girls who will put out at the drop of a freakin hat!â Leah had taken the phone from you to see what you were talking about. She groaned and then noticed your whole body was shaking, in a flash she was at the door calling for Sam and the others. All you could see was red. Your vision totally blank, the covers under your hands balled up in your fists tight, your body shaking, heating up. Somewhere in the background you could hear someone shouting at you to calm down, but this time you couldnât. You heard the sound of ripping and then all of a sudden the world around you changed. For one, everything in the room seemed to get smaller, or maybe you got bigger? You were still angry and started lashing out, only to be tackled by something from the side, leading you to smash through the wall of the wooden house. You still didnât understand what was happening, until you heard them in your head.Â
âY/N CALM DOWN! We know this is scary but you need to calm down.â It was Sams voice. In your head. Or maybe, the voice was coming from the 8ft black wolf hovering over you. You didnât scream, you didnât even seem scared, and itâs because you realised, you were a wolf too.Â
-Paulâs POV-
Y/N was safe, sleeping soundly in the room next door, or so Paul thought. It wasnât until he heard the shouting that he knew something was wrong. Leah called for help and before he knew what had happened there was a bang and Sam was tackling a wolf on the ground outside the house.Â
A white wolf. Small, slim, bright, with a single grey patch of fur around an eye. Paul shifted instantly, realising the unknown wolf in front of him was in fact his imprint. He let out a low growl to Sam, even though he was the Alpha, Paul didnât like the fact heâd just tackled his girl. He looked her over, his tongue lolling out the side of his mouth almost comically, all the while Y/N stood staring and the grey wolf now in front of her, he could hear through the bond that sheâd just imprinted, feel it too. Now she knew.Â
-Your POV-
âHold the fuck up.â You couldnât believe what you were hearing. Part of you couldnât tell if you were in a dream or had just gone plain crazy. The other part of you knew that everything was real but you just couldnât process the information quick enough. âSo youâre telling me, that our ancestors were these shapeshifters and the gene was passed down to us to allow us to shift into giant wolves and hunt down vampires. You know, Vampires, âI want to suck you bloodâ, creepy pale strong immortal beings with no soul? And werewolves, I mean, Shifters..â It was insane.Â
âAnddd to top it off, the man iâve had a crush on since 2nd grade is my imprint, the person Iâm supposed to be with for the rest of my life?â You glared at Paul who had the audacity to wink in your direction. Looking around you noticed the other faces, all amused at your outburst. Okay, so this wasnât a joke, it was some sick reality you were now a part of. You hadnât looked in Leahâs direction yet, pissed that your best friend had kept such a massive secret from you. Obviously you knew it wasnât her fault, she wasnât aloud to tell you the tribes secret, they didnât know that you would be another female shifter, apparently your kind were rare. It still stung a little.Â
âWhat really sucks thought Y/N, is that youâre gonna have to cut you beautiful hair short, our human hair mimics the length of our wolf hair, hence why each of us one by one cut it all off.â Quil sat back and shrugged and Paul growled lowly, not lowly enough for heightened hearing.Â
âWhy now. Why. I-I have school and I have things I want to do with my life.. I canât be a shifter..â Reality had started to sink in and you found it difficult to breath. It felt like everyone in the room was staring at you and it didnât help that you could also hear what everyone was basically saying. Your chair was pushed back with a screech, falling over and hitting the wooden floor.Â
âI-I need to get out of here, I need a minute..â You were out the door in a flash, Leah and the boys running after you. Somewhere in the distance you could make out Sam telling Paul to calm down and then heard what sounded like wolves shifting but youâd already made it to the tree line, being able to run faster than youâd imagined still in your human form.Â
The air was colder the higher up you got. You didnât know how long youâd been running for but it had been a couple of hours before you finally stopped. In the middle of nowhere, high up in the mountains you let out a scream, one that sent flocks of birds fleeing from trees, the notes of your anguish scattering in the breeze. Everything would be changing now, life as you once knew it was gone. Part of yourself would never be yours again, having to follow a pack system. Another part of you was giddy at the thought that the man youâd been in love with your whole life turned out to be the one destined for you all along, it only took shifting into a wolf for you both to realise just how compatible you were.
Youâd been alone with your thoughts long enough when you heard a twig snap in the distance. The hairs on your arms stood up and your heart started beating rapidly, turning, you calmed when you noticed a familiar figure walk out into the open.Â
âPaul.â You could feel the bond running through your veins, seeing him helped you breath better and the physical need and urge to be in his arms was too strong. Like he sensed it too, he was over to you in a flash, taking you in his arms, your body pressed against his, his nose buried in your hair breathing in your scent, like he was saving it to memory.Â
âY/N, itâs all going to be okay, I promise, nothing bad will ever happen to you while iâm around, I know it seems scary now, but it wonât be like this forever. Youâre already so strong, and Iâm lucky that fate paired me with you.â
Yoooo. I hope you liked this chapter, Iâve had some writers block recently, just trying to keep going. Iâm still not sure what direction Iâm taking this fic, I do know however that this is set at the beginning of eclipse! So watch out for some vampire action!
dance me to the end of love (ii)
word count: 3.3k
warnings: fem!oc, alcohol consumption, cursing
series masterpost: here
a/n: part two baby! thanks for all the love on part one, it means the absolute world. i have so much love for this story and i hope people are enjoying it :))
Life is settling into a comfortable rhythm.
After spending a good chunk of her young adult life being incredibly studious, Magdalene can finally have the social life of someone in their mid-twenties. Though sheâs still spending a fair amount of time by herself in the basements of the University of Denverâs library, Bette convinces her to go out more. Magdalene tries to fight, citing extra work or a good book as an excuse to stay home, but it doesnât work very often. The pleas of her friend are how Magdalene finds herself currently lounging poolside at Erik Johnsonâs house on a Sunday afternoon.
âHowâs the new career treating you?â Tyson asks. âI feel like we havenât seen you in a while.â
Magdalene laughs. âIâve seen Bette plenty,â she says, âShe thinks I wonât take a lunch break unless she shows up.â
âWould you?â the blonde girl questions with a quirked brow.
âProbably not.â
âI rest my case.â
A small crowd gathers around as Magdalene begins to detail the specifics of her job, but she doesnât feel as uncomfortable as she once would have. In the month or so since graduating school sheâs found herself slowly being incorporated into the Avalanche family. Itâs almost certainly because Bette and Tyson championed her case, explaining that she doesnât have much of a support system beyond the two of them, but she doesnât mind. A few of the guys ask her questions about her work, curious as to why someone would want to spend their life combing through piles of old things. Everyone stays engaged in the conversation until thereâs a shout from the kitchen that dinner is ready.
Magdalene shuffles in line behind André, filling her plate with various pasta salads and a hamburger. Once situated with enough food for two meals she returns to the pool deck, sitting on the edge and dipping her toes into the cool water. Bette comes and finds her a minute later and the two of them begin to eat.
Sheâs still relatively new to the groupâs dynamic, but Magdalene canât help but notice that Ryan is never around. In fact, Magdalene hasnât seen him since her graduation party. Taking a casual sip of her wine cooler, she asks her friend about the manâs absence.
âWhy is Ryan never at these sorts of things?â
Bette shrugs. âIsnât a huge one for parties. He was supposed to come today, but I guess something came up.â
âIâm not huge on parties,â Magdalene huffs, âBut that doesnât stop you from dragging me to every single one.â
âUnlike you, Gravy gets enough regular social interaction that his absence is permissible. If Tyson and I didnât take you out youâd talk to your cat more than normal.â
She wants to fight back, but knows itâs pointless. Bette has a point â if it werenât for her the only people Magdalene would interact with are her boss and her cat. Instead, she grumbles under her breath and changes the subject to the trip Bette is in the middle of planning. Itâs coming up in a few weeks, and Magdalene wants to hear a bit more about it before she commits. Despite what she thought about taking time off so close to starting work, it was encouraged by June, but she's refraining from telling Bette that. If it doesnât sound like she'll enjoy it, Magdalene is banking on being able to use the excuse.
Bette explains that sheâs renting a large lake house that is perfect for a relaxing week away from adult responsibilities. The property has kayaks and a hot tub, which pretty much ensures that Magdalene will want to be in attendance. Sheâll hold onto that information for a little while longer though, if for no other reason to make Bette squirm a little. At some point Tyson comes to sweep his girlfriend away and leaves Magdalene at the party alone. She makes polite conversation with some other players for a while before heading home herself. Ryan never shows up, despite how much Magdalene hopes he will. At the very least she wants to properly thank him for doing her a favour, though her hoping to see him is much more selfish. He intrigues her and she wants to know more about the tall man with the dazzling smile and a proclivity for wearing all black.
âŒâŒâŒâŒ
Barn Owl Book Company is filled to the brim when Magdalene approaches the store from the side street it annexes. She shouldâve expected it â itâs the first of the month and their newest books are hitting the shelves. However, Magdalene doesnât exactly have time to wait in line. June gave her only fifteen minutes to run and grab them coffee before they continue the massive task of digitizing a private collection that has just been donated to the university. She estimates it will take almost a month of extended hours to get everything done, and Magdalene believes it. Thereâs so much to wade through but she knows the end result will be satisfying.
Luckily the cafĂ© line is fairly short, and Magdalene reaches the counter in a timely manner. âHey,â she greets the barista warmly, âCould I just grab two medium iced cappuccinos?â
âAnything else?â
âNo, that's everything. Itâll be on debit,â she smiles. Magdalene reaches into her backpack to grab her wallet only to find that itâs missing. Shit. The barista has already left to make the drinks, completely unaware that her customer is unable to pay.
Magdalene hears a voice from behind her say, âIâve got it, donât worry.â She turns around to find Ryan Graves standing there with a book tucked under his right arm.
âYouâre a lifesaver,â she mumbles appreciatively. âI donât know how my boss would take it if I showed up empty handed.â
Ryan laughs shyly as he pulls his card away from the machine. âI get it, everyone needs a little caffeine this time of year.â The barista comes back with Magdaleneâs drinks, which she takes with a smile and a wish for a good day. The two of them head towards the exit, and Ryan pauses once theyâre on the sidewalk. âWhich way are you headed?â
âBack to work,â Magdalene says, nodding her head in the direction of campus. âIâve got approximately five minutes to get there before June rips me a new one.â
âJune?â
âSheâs my boss,â she explains.
Ryan nods in understanding. âIâll see you around Magdalene,â he smiles, turning on his heel and heading the opposite direction.
In a moment of bravery, Magdalene yells at his retreating figure. âWill you? We never seem to cross paths.â
âIâll be at Bette and Tysonâs this weekend, and Iâm counting on your company.â
Magdalene finds it incredibly hard to focus the rest of the afternoon. She keeps thinking about what Ryan said, which makes her a rather lousy archivist. June sends her home just after seven even though they had plans to stay until ten, citing the fact that sheâs scanned the same photo three times before noticing. Caligulaâs meowing for pets when she gets home isnât even enough to distract her from the comment. The absentmindedness continues for another day or so, and itâs becoming so bad Magdalene is worried that June is going to fire her for incompetence.
Itâs only when Bette calls to invite her over for dinner and drinks that her mind levels out. âI was wondering when I was going to get the call,â she chuckles absentmindedly.
âWhatâs that supposed to mean?â is the response Magdalene receives.
âWell,â she explains, âI ran into Ryan at Barn Owl the other day and he paid for my drinks because I left my wallet on the table at work, and he said he expected to see me at your place this weekend. So if you never invited me I was just going to show up.â
Bette is smiling, that much Magdalene can infer by the lull in conversation. âI havenât got the time to call you yet,â she concedes, âBut consider this the official invitation to our house for a small party.â
âAnything weâre celebrating?â
âNope. Have you ever needed a reason to party?â
Magdalene laughs. âYes. Need one almost every time actually.â
The rest of the week passes fairly quickly. To make up for her blundering earlier in the week Magdalene offers to work a full day on Saturday, by herself, to get the project back on track. June accepts the proposition eagerly, and Magdalene lets Bette know sheâll be coming directly from work. Saturday rolls around and she spends most of her time getting lost in the past lives of the artefacts sheâs dealing with. If someone were to ask Magdalene what her favourite part of archiving is, thatâs the answer sheâd give. Thereâs nothing more satisfying to her than holding a piece of history in her hands and imagining all the stories it would be able to tell if it could speak.
By the time sheâs put in a full work day and finishes locking up the basement floor her department occupies, Magdalene is pretty sure theyâre ahead of schedule on the project. She genuinely feels terrible about her misperformance and hopes June will be able to forgive her. On the way to Bette and Tysonâs Magdalene listens to the Leonard Cohen greatest hits cd that came with her car. The previous owner was presumably a big fan, and over the years Magdalene has come to appreciate the folk singer. She never got to see him in concert before his death but turns to his music when she needs to relax. Right now is the perfect time to listen to âHallelujahâ on repeat because sheâs seriously freaking out about the idea of spending the night talking to Ryan. Though she still wants to properly thank him and possibly become friends, something about him makes Magdalene nervous.
Thereâs no way for her to tell if Ryan is there when she parks in front of the house. She doesnât know what kind of car he drives, or if he caught a ride with someone. Magdalene debates texting Bette to see if heâs there already but decides against it, knowing sheâs an adult who is more than capable of pushing down nerves.
She doesnât bother knocking and just steps into the respectably sized home. The music is loud enough that no one would have heard her anyways. Itâs much more of a party than Magdalene was expecting â Bette invited her for dinner and drinks, not a gathering that could pass as a frat party. There are bodies everywhere, and she isnât sure if sheâll ever catch a glimpse of her friend.
âYou seem to be dressed for the wrong kind of party,â a voice chuckles from behind her.
Magdalene turns to see Ryan leaning against the wall, eyeing her business casual attire. âI came from work,â she explains, âAnd didnât know it was this kind of party to begin with. I wouldâve at least brought a change of clothes.â
âYou look terribly out of place,â he agrees. âCan I grab you a drink? The hosts are too busy playing beer pong to, you know, be hosts.â
A giggle escapes Magdaleneâs lips at the comment. Ryan seems to have a similar sense of humor to her, which will be beneficial for passing the time if Bette is already on her way to being wasted. âA glass of red wine would be nice.â
Ryan pushes off from his perch and heads towards the kitchen. The crowd parts for the six-foot-five hockey player, and Magdalene follows in his wake quite easily. Knowing the space as well as her, Ryan grabs a wine glass from the cupboard Bette keeps them in and pours the dark red liquid into it. He waits until Magdalene has situated herself on the island before handing her the cup. She takes it with an appreciative hum and waits until heâs grabbed a beer for himself before raising her glass in toast. Ryan does the same, and their glasses clink before each of them take a sip.
âWhat exactly is it that you do? I bet itâs something super cool and studious, but I seriously donât know what the hell being an archivist means.â
Magdalene explains her job to Ryan, who is extremely interested. He asks nearly a hundred follow-up questions that she answers sincerely, throwing in a few jokes that luckily crack him up. Conversation moves to his career and then life. Magdalene learns that heâs from Nova Scotia, though he stays around Denver these days, and that if he wasnât playing professional hockey heâd like to have a career in publishing. Ryan doesnât press too hard when Magdalene refuses to open up about her family, which she appreciates. Itâs a delicate subject that she keeps guarded close to her chest, and a friendâs kitchen in the middle of a party isnât the place for her to divulge her deepest secrets.
The two of them get refills before exiting the room. Even more people seemed to arrive since Magdalene walked through the door, and the kitchen is no longer an empty safe haven. The music is so loud she can feel the bass thumping in her chest, giving the living room a club-like atmosphere, and itâs too much. Magdalene tugs at the hem of Ryanâs sweater to catch his attention. âWant to go somewhere quiet?â
âI doubt there is such a place,â he yells over the crowd going crazy over some early 2000s hip-hop track.
âFollow me,â she says with a smile, pointing over her shoulder in the direction of the staircase to the second floor.
It takes a minute for them to wade through the throngs of people, but it goes much faster once Ryan takes Magdaleneâs hand and splits the crowd. A few boys, who donât look older than twenty-one and almost certainly snuck into the party, notice where the pair are going and shout congratulations. Ryan shoots them a glare so sharp it could cut stone but doesnât drop Magdaleneâs hand. Once safely on the much quieter second floor, Magdalene makes a beeline for the bathroom.
âAre you coming or what?â she asks when there doesnât seem to be footsteps following her.
Ryan hesitates. âI, uh, can just wait out here while youâre in there,â he stammers.
Magdaleneâs laugh rings out through the empty hallway. âIâm not going to the bathroom. Weâre going out the window.â
He isnât sure how thatâs any better, but Ryan follows the brown-haired girl into the room. It takes considerably more work for him to fit through the frame, but after some directions from Magdalene he makes it onto the roof. She sits down and pats the space beside her, encouraging Ryan to do the same. They stay out there, discussing anything that comes to their heads, until the partyâs numbers dwindle drastically. Magdalene makes sure to properly thank him for both attending her graduation and spotting her coffee money, and she thinks Ryan might blush a little when she offers to get the next round. He asks about her love of The West Wing, and they launch into a long conversation about the show and cast. The sun fades to black and the cold sets in, and Magdalene finds herself wrapped in Ryanâs sweater without asking. Itâs only when she notices itâs approaching midnight that Magdalene clues into how tired she is.
âI think Iâm going to head out,â she yawns. Ryan nods in agreement and holds the window open for her to slip in through. Once downstairs, Magdalene goes to lift the sweater from her frame but Ryan stops her.
âKeep it for drive home. Iâll get it back next time we see each other.â
Still feeling bold from the alcohol that left her system hours ago, she reaches out to poke him in the chest. âAnd when will that be, hm? You seem to enjoy leaving our meetings up to chance.â
Itâs Ryanâs turn to laugh. âThink you can swing an extended lunch break on Wednesday? Iâll be at Barn Owl all afternoon. Maybe you can join me for a coffee.â
Magdalene likes the sound of that and agrees. She leaves without seeing Bette or Tyson once, but she doesnât mind. Theyâd be happy for her blooming friendship â or at least sheâs pretty sure they will be once she calls to fill them in on the details.
âŒâŒâŒâŒ
Wednesday rolls around without incident, and Magdalene is given a full hour to eat instead of thirty minutes. Walking time has to be accounted for, of course, but she should have nearly forty-five minutes to spend with Ryan if she plays her cards right. Thereâs no crowd this time, and itâs incredibly easy to spot Ryan sitting in the window she loves to claim as her own.
âHey,â Magdalene greets, âDid Bette tell you to sit here?â
He shakes his head, perplexed at the question. âNo, why?â
âItâs just my favourite seat in the store, thatâs all. I thought she told you how to gain some extra brownie points.â
âShould I be concerned about the amount of points I have?â Ryan teases, sliding a cup and pastry bag across the table and into her hands.
Magdalene shakes her head, smiling widely. âYouâre doing alright so far. Keep up the good work.â
They eat at a comfortable pace, taking breaks to engage in interesting topics of conversation or take sips of their drinks. Ryan insists his life is boring, but Magdalene is enthralled by the stories he tells. Itâs completely different from hers and she feels as though she can live vicariously through the tales of walking through the historic downs of the east coast and swimming in the Pacific Ocean on days off in California. After squeezing every story possible from the man Magdalene shifts gears slightly.
âSo, are you going on the trip in a couple of weeks?â
âItâs looking that way,â Ryan shrugs with relative indifference, âNate doesnât think heâll be able to come back, something about a development camp heâs running having the dates switched. Heâs asked me to take his spot.â
His neutral mood confuses her. When Bette mentioned his probable attendance months ago, it sounded like he was enthusiastic about spending a week with friends doing nothing to swimming and drinking. âYou donât want to go?â Magdalene probes.
âItâs not that I donât want to, but sometimes the group parties a little harder than I like to,â he sighs, raising a hand and running it through his hair. Thatâs something she understands completely, having spent a few too many nights being the sober one out.
âIâll be there.â Itâs Magdaleneâs turn to shrug, but the comment holds an incredible amount of hope.
âWell then, that changes everything.â
Was Ryan flirting with her? She spends the rest of lunch thinking about the possibility, and truthfully, it occupies her brain for the rest of the day. However, she keeps her focus and June is none the wiser to the butterflies in her stomach. Work finishes without much fanfare, and her dinner is silent save for the few meows of conversation Caligula offers. Itâs late by the time Magdalene falls into bed, cat snuggled into the pillow beside her. On a whim she decides to check Instagram and sees a message request from none other than the man whoâs smile has been replaying in her mind. A follow request accompanies it.
Thought that maybe we could quit leaving our meetings to chance and plan something next time :)
He has to be flirting. Thereâs no other explanation for the witty banter theyâve shared this week, or why heâs reaching out to her on social media. The butterflies in her stomach multiply tenfold as Magdalene types out a reply.
I donât know, itâs kind of fun being shrouded in mystery. However, I now have the opportunity to stalk your profile ;)
Before she can overthink her use of the emoji, Magdalene shoves her phone in the drawer of her nightstand and rolls over. A slight smile canât help but appear on her features as she falls asleep, already curious about what his reply will be.
Two Shorten the Road
part 1
joel dawson x reader
warnings: cussing? idk, bad writing.....fluff, cuteness, monsters(is this a warning), mentions of death, SPOILERS
word count: 2154
prompt: when your best friend decides to leave your colony to go find the love of his life, you decide to join him on his journey even if you arenât so happy about where this journey is going
Welp I did it, I took it into my own hands. I am writing a joel dawson series. Because weđneed đmoređjoelđficsđ itâs basically the movie, almost the same script but obviously slightly differentâŠENJOY! <3
No one in my generation or later had a typical upbringing, I mean some of us did but then the world ended. This type of thing sounds straight out of some apocalyptic movie, but we basically live in one now. Agatha 616, an asteroid heading straight for earth, I know, so original. So we all came together and did what we do best, blow things up. Yup, we blew up teh asteroid, and humanity was saved! We thought. But hereâs the thing about rockets, they are made of a bunch of chemical compounds which eventually rained back down on earth. Suddenly there were these Aileen creatures that mutated and started eating us. Ants, lizards, roaches, crocodiles, you name it. Our president was even killed by a giant moth. YaâŠ.not so original now huh? We suddenly need tanks to kill ants, oh man I remember the good old days when a shoe would do just fine. Sometimes even the tanks didnât work. Eventually the really big ones and our military took each other out and we lost 95% of the human population in a year! Those of us who survived hid, bunkers, caves, panic rooms, all around the world. So for the last seven years Iâve been hiding in an underground bunker. Itâs really not as bad as it sounds, and itâs better than getting eaten alive. Itâs a great group of people and we all love each other.
âAre you sure theyâre asleep?â
âWho?â
âY/N and joel!â
âOh ya Iâm sureâ
âJoel? Y/n?â
âHeâs asleepâ
Actually we are both awake. Me and my best friend joel have kinda mastered faking being asleep. Our beds are right across from each other so we normally just lie there and make stupid faces at each other. We are the only two single people in our bunker. Nice huh? Joel is my best friend. I met him when I joined the colony. Heâs the sweetest. Itâs funny cause everyone thinks we should just have sex already because thatâs literally all everyone else does. But we are way above that. Anyway, joel is in love with his girlfriend from before the colony, her name is Aimee. With one âIâ and two âeâs. He loves to talk about her, he writes her letters. So in reality, I am the only one who is not in love in this bunker. Iâve never had a boyfriend, ever, even before the world ended.
We donât really get any sleep. The moaning kinda keeps us awake. I got up and out of my bed and headed for the kitchen. I heard Joelâs bed creak and then his footsteps as he followed behind me. Another annoying thing about being down here is that to get to the kitchen from my room, you have to walk though other peopleâs bedrooms. Oh shit, they are busy, why would they leave their door open. Me and Joel stopped.
âOhâ joel and I said in unison
âHey Y/N! Hey Joel!â Ava said
âOh hey Avaâ Joel said, we didnât dare look over to our left.
âY/N howâs it going?â Tim asked
âT-totally good tim, h-how are you doingâ I asked
âYeah, goodâ he responded
âI uh we couldnât sleepâ said Joel looking at the ceiling
âYa we know the feelingâ Ava said with a laugh
âYeah probably not for theâŠ..same reasonsâ joel said looking straight ahead
âYour guyses door was open, did youâŠdid you know that?â I asked
âYeah we knowâ they said
I shook my head and knitted my eyebrows together
âOkayâ joel trailed off
Ever since Timâs parents were eaten by a swarm of termites he and Ava have gotten really close, in every way.
âOkay, goodnightâ joel said as we walked
Basically everyone is coupled up down here, a baby was born last winter! Welcome to the apocalypse kid. Ok if we ever get out of this, that would be an awesome story to tell your kids. âOh ya I was born in an underground bunker doing a monster apocalypseâ âyes exactly like World War Z but with bugs bigger than a 5 story buildingâ. I mean come on.
So your probably wonder how the hell we get food, weâll we have a cow. Gurdy. Gurdy is great. We also have a hunting party that brings back whatever they can from the surface. Itâs gotten harder and harder, cause we ran out of bullets. And facing one of those things with a handmade weapon is just as hard as it sounds. Itâs very very difficult. I go with themâŠ.sometimes. I still get scared. But Iâve been out quite a lot, especially compared to my man joel over here. Iâve been out maybe 30 times, heâs been outâŠmaybe once, or not even. Heâs the chef of the bunker. He makes super good Minestrone.
Me and joel like to hang out with Mavis. A robot. Yup. Not much for conversation, her batter is shot. Just like every other mavis I would imagine. When Iâm not hunting we hang out with her. But sometimes I just go read. Reading and joel keep me sane. I mean sometimes joel drives me insane but I still love him. I have quite the collection of books too! Iâve got Emma by Jane Austen, a couple random ones that we found, all the hunger games and Harry Potter books, some mysteries that stopped being mysteries after a while, and then of course some smutty romance books for personal entertainment.
Joel likes to say that his thing is target practice. He has never hit the target but ya know, gotta entertain yourself. I think his thing is drawing though, he has this book that he draws in from Aimee. Itâs really cool actually. Heâs really good.
I sat watching Joel as he tried to hit the target, laughing a little every time he missed. It was cute how hard he tried.
âShut upâ he said shaking his laugh away
I laughed again, but then suddenly the lights started flickering. You could hear screeches and creeks echoing through the bunker. Joel turned to look at me. Worry and determination in his eyes. We both scrambled out of the room and into the kitchen where everyone was preparing.
âHustle, hustle people weâve gotta moveâ
I turned to look at Joel but then realized that he wasnât next to me. Where did he go? Worry flooded through me. Suddenly the clanking of our weapon started behind me.
âHey guys!â Joel said as he rammed into the railing, I shook my head. âGuys! Iâve got the weaponsâ he smiled at me
A few people walked over to him taking them out of his hands
âStayâ said Tim
âW-what?â Joel asked looking around in confusion
Everyone was talking and barking orders âgrab what you need and letâs go! Y/N you coming?â
My eyes shot open âyes! Yup!â I jumped up and grabbed the bow and arrow from Joel.
âW-what's happening?â He asked innocently âwhatâs going on?â
âThereâs a breachâ said Tim
âWhat do you mean? Like inside the bunker breach?!â He asked
âYes joel! Now come on!â I told him, patting him on the pack as I followed the others
He followed me and watched the plan get arranged
âAnna, Y/N and I will engage. Anderson and Tom plank himâ
âPlank him, ya ok where do you guys need me? You want me to uh come through the rear or..?â Joel asked eagerly
âI donât think your going to pass this joelâ I told him
âPass what? You guys need help, let me helpâ said clutching his crossbow
âYou gonna make me say it?â said Sam
âSay what?!â God he was so adorably clueless
âYou canât handle it joel, your shookâ said Sam, we all began getting into positions
âYa ok, yes so you guys donât get scared..ever?â He asked still getting ready to fight
âWe get scared, we all get scared joel, but you get really scaredâ said Sam
âThey are trying to make you feel bad joelâ I said sweetly, trying to calm him down
âWe love you joelâ
âBut your a liabilityâ
âOk why did that speech feel so rehearsed? And what about Y/N? Sheâs likeâŠya know?â He said bobbing his head
âJoel-â suddenly the bunker shook and the lights flicked again
âOk 30 meters out! Letâs move!â And we were off
Leaving joel and some others behind. You could hear the growling of whatever we were up against
I followed the others and listened carefully. I was freaking shaking. Donât ask how I got sucked into becoming one the the hunters. Kinda just happened and I was just-
âOH SHIT!â I heard someone yell, it was too dark to see. Someone was gone, that thing took them. I couldnât even see it. Oh fuck my life. Everyone began scattering, running away from the monster. I stopped running to take a breath, when I realized I was alone. Nicely done Y/N. The lights kept flickering. I heard something blow up in the distance.
âConned? Conner?â I heard a whisper, one I knew all too well. Shit, joel. I ran toward the sound, and had no idea I was also running toward certain death. I stopped running. There it was, that thing. Iâd never seen this before. I didnât recognize it. I stayed silent, not moving at all. It slowly crawled over a shower curtain. Oh fuck. He was going toward joel! I quickly grabbed my bow and arrow and shot it. Right though the face. Next to itsâŠ.eye I guess you could call it. Joel stood there, frozen.
I slowly walked over to him âJoel, hey are you ok?â I asked as I slipped my hand into his. He was trembling. Tears ran down his cheeks. He has a bad freezing problem, so I've been helping him work on it.
About an hour later I sat with Joel, still holding his hand as he stared out into space. We could hear everyone talking. How could this have happened?
âIt ripped through stealâ
âAnderson and I resealed the Breach point, nothings getting in that way againâ
âBut why did it happen?â
I tried to toon it out, and I hoped Joel did too.
âJoel, do you wanna talk about it?â I asked squeezing his hand, he looked so sad, which just crushed me
He shook his head
âOkâŠ.â I nodded, I leaned into hug him but was interrupted by his voice
âHow far away is Aimee's colony?â He asked
I pulled back, looking at him confused. The talking stopped and everyone look at him
âWhat?â Tim asked
âAimeeâs colony, how far away is it?â He repeated
âAbout 85 milesâ he said as he furrowed his brows
âHow long will it take to get there?â
âWhat do you mean joel?â I asked leaning closer to him
âJust humor me, how long?â He insisted
â7 daysâ said Tim
âSomeone whoâs armed and trained would hardly last 50miles, but youâŠjoelâ Ava said, I felt bad for him, he really didnât deserve any of this
âAlrightâ Tim continued ânow I need volunteersâ
âIâm gonna goâ joel said
No one said anything, they just stared
âItâs an impossible journey joelâ said Tim, crossing his arms
Joel stood up, moving around my chair. âNo im seriousâŠI love you guys but thereâs only one person in this world who ever truly made me happy and sheâs only 85 miles awayâ he said strongly âIâm gonna go see herâ I could see his mind was made up
God he was such a romantic, how could you not love this guy? Sure it hurts when your best friend tells you that you didnât make him truly happy. Especially when you maybe sorta kinda have a crush on him.
He let out a breath âwoah, that felt awesomeâ he said as he walked off to start packing
I stood there for a second processing and thinking, but then suddenly my mouth took over and wellâŠ.
âIâm coming with you!â I said, he froze âI mean you canât leave me here with these middle aged people, and your my best friend soâ I shrugged
âIâll come back for you I promiseâ he walked over to me âI canât let you put yourself in even more dangerâ he said grabbing my arms
âI canât let you put yourself in danger knowing that I could have helped protect youâ I said, he stared blankly at me
I smiled âo-ohKâŠthen I guessâŠâ he trailed off
âCool Iâll go packâ I skipped past him. Was I scared? Hell yes. But like I said, I needed to help joel and protect him in every way I can. And sure I wasnât so happy that he was returning to his long lost love but if it made him happy then I would live. And anyway, two do shorten the road.
Speak Of The Devil (Malcolm Bright x Winchester!Reader) | Prodigal Son/Supernatural Crossover
[Prodigal Son-Masterlist], [Supernatural-Masterlist]
Summary: What started as a normal case for the NYPD ended in you needing help from your family. Malcolm had never met your brothers & they had no idea you were dating. Things were bound to get complicated, it was inevitable. Still, you had to focus on this case before another person got killed.
Words: 5,557
Warnings: spoilers for 2x02 (doesnât follow the actual plot obviously), murder, demons, language, confused Malcolm, lil hint at Destiel (barely there, could be missed if you donât pay attention - sorry, I couldnât help myself), I donât think Iâve ever had this much fun while writing something
If you like my work & wanna support me: a coffee would be highly appreciated â€
The NYPD was assigned to solve a âcreepy ass caseâ, as JT so lovingly put it. As Malcolm & you got to the crime scene, you understood what your fellow coworker had warned you about. Ugh, you hated churches with your guts. Well, that was not entirely true. But whenever a murder happened on a holy ground, nothing good ever came out of it. That was what you experienced before you started working for the police. Before thatâŠyou also worked for the police somehow? Just, they were not aware of that & you might have done some criminal things. For the greater good, though! Your brothers & you had saved thousands of people. They still did. You just needed to get out of this life & see if there was more for you to achieve. And there was. Not only did you find a great family who was also your team, at the same time you found Malcolm, your boyfriend.
Back to the case. Walking into a crime scene had always been bizarre to you. It showed you how close you still were to murder, even though you promised your brothers to distance yourself from it entirely. Technically, you did. This was different, though. At least you told yourself so. Gil, JT, Dani & Edrisa were already inspecting the scene when you two walked in. Oh no. This could not be good. The image in front of you seemed familiar & if it were not inappropriate to roll your eyes at a dead person, you would do it. Gil briefly explained the situation to you. Apparently the victim had been a member of the church for 30 years. The Lieutenant & Malcolm interrogated Sister Agnes. She was the one who found the body. There was another thing bothering you, so you did not really pay attention to whatever she was saying. Your focus was solely on JT, who had been through way too much to stand here & act as if everything was fine. A slight touch on his shoulder made him turn his head in your direction.
âHey, you okay?â of course you were concerned about him. He was family, after all.
âYeah, Iâm fine.â he brushed you off as if he did not know what point you were trying to get across.
âReally? Because usually when Malcolm says heâs fineâŠwell, heâs everything but.â a chuckle lightened the mood a little. You had to keep a closer eye on JT for the time being. Just in case.
âOur victim here performed an exorcism.â Malcolmâs statement let your eyes snap back to where he was standing. Edrisa smiled excitedly at him. This womanâŠShe was the sweetest soul. Could be annoying, too. But in a sweet & loving way. Maybe she should turn down her excitement for murder. Who were you kidding? Your boyfriend was probably worse when it came to that. Wanting to have a closer look at the book Malcolm was referring to, you put your gloves on & carefully walked over to him. Trying not to mess up any possible clues left behind by the killer.
âCan I have a look?â you gestured to the small book & Malcolm handed it over to you. Shit. If you remembered correctly, there was a similar one back at the bunker. A look inside the pages confirmed your assumption. No need to freak out right away. There were tons of crazy people out there. Just because of this murder in this church & this book did not mean that there was anything supernatural involved. You just hoped it would stay that way. For everyoneâs sake.
Your face fell when Edrisa said that there was a note left behind, written in blood. To the others, it looked like a sign without meaning. It looked familiar to you but you could not quite pinpoint where you remembered it from. Sister Agnesâ words made you stop in your tracks.
âAbaddon.â she breathed out. Sure, why the hell not? Okay, maybe this case was something for your brothers. But wait a damn minuteâŠlast time you checked, Abaddon was stabbed with the First Blade. She could not possibly be back, could she?
âNow we know our killerâs name.â Malcolmâs words gained the attention of the entire team. There was no way he had everything figured out already. You knew he was a great profiler but even that would have been too fast for him.
âOh? Who is it?â Gil asked intrigued.
âYou know.â Malcolm paused for a few moments. Probably for dramatic effect but what did you know? âThe devil.â you could not help but laugh at his words. Great, now everyone was looking at you weirdly. Oh, he made a joke. Of course he did. Sometimes you forgot that you were not an active part of the hunting life anymore. A few coughs from you stopped the awkward tension in the room. At least a bit.
In no way did you want to defend Lucifer. He had made your life literal hell one too many times. But even he would not go as far & do something as cruel as this. Again, last time you checked, he was dead. But death did not agree with Lucifer. How many times had he died? You probably should not be the one to judge. You were not better by any means.
Excusing yourself to get some fresh air, you grabbed your phone out of your pocket. Hopefully he would pick up. It had been a while since you last talked. The phone rang & rang & slowly you lost hope. Maybe he really was mad at you for being radio silent for so long.
â(Y/N)?â his voice startled you slightly.
âSam! Uh, hi.â suddenly you turned shy.
âItâs so good to hear from you! How are you?â he was happy that you decided to call after so long.
âIâm good, thanks. Actually, I need to ask you for a favorâŠâ you started.
âWhat is it? Everything alright?â Sam was growing concerned. Back then, you hated relying on another person, too stubborn to ask for help, because you wanted to do everything on your own.
âThereâs a case here in New YorkâŠI believe itâs your kind. And I genuinely donât think I can deal with this on my own.â
âBut youâre safe, right?â
âI am, as safe as one can be.â you chuckled. Working for the police & all that. Not that you would tell Sam on the phone. If they were to come by, he would find out sooner or later. âIâll send you the details, alright? Be here as fast as you can.â
âOkay, no problem. Take care, okay?â
âYou too. See you soon.â wow, you were about to see your brothers again. Hopefully everything would be fine & nobody would rip your head off.
âSee you, (Y/N).â Sam ended the call & you let out a breath you did not know you were holding.
The phone call should stay a secret for the time being. People breaking out in panic was everything but convenient. Besides, you did not need your team looking at you like you were a lunatic. Malcolm explained possession trance disorder when you joined everyone again. How could one human being know so much about so many unimportant things? Like, this man was a human dictionary. Looking over at Gil, you had to grin by how hard he was trying to make sense of what Malcolm was saying. Gil noticed you staring at him & gave you a look. The one that made you not want to mess with him. Still, you laughed shortly, you could not keep it in any longer. Malcolm gave you a questioning look but you simply shrugged him off by a wave of your hand.
The last interrogation of the day was with the guy who was currently doing the painting job inside the church. Unfortunately, you did not get any more information. Everything he told you, you had already heard from the others. Basically, after interrogating everyone, you were certain that this was not a common case for the NYPD. And you were more than happy that your brothers were on their way to come over. How would you explain any of this to Malcolm? He knew you had two brothers but you had also told him that you were not necessarily talking, only when it came to emergencies. Great, Malcolm would freak out. Even more so than normal, probably.
âWhy do we have to visit your father again?â you shot the question at Malcolm as you were walking over the psychiatric yard, looking for Martin. He rolled his eyes at you, exhausted by your constant questioning.
âIâve explained it a thousand times, (Y/N).â
âWell, I donât see how any of this is connected to him.â you argued. Whenever Malcolm had the great idea to visit his father, you tagged along. Simply because you knew it was always hard for him & you wanted to support him wherever you could. Right now, though, you were losing your patience. After all, you knew the cause of this case. But your brothers had yet to arrive so you should play along for now.
âMalcolm, my boy. (Y/N)! Always nice to see you.â Martin started, excited to see his son accompanied by you. The first time you visited Martin, he took an immediate liking to you. Probably because he could see that you were good for Malcolm & his son meant the world to him. Still, he was a narcissistic psychopath. Remembering clearly how he had told you that everyone had flaws during your first meeting. Ah, good times.
âI wish I could say the same, Dr. Whitly.â a sarcastic smile plastered on your face. From then on, you let Malcolm do the talking, not really paying attention to what he was saying. Your thoughts were with your brothers, hoping they would get their asses here quickly before you had to endure more of this bullshit. It was frustrating when you knew how to solve this case but there was nobody you could talk to, not about this. Malcolm desperately tried searching for a non-supernatural explanation. Of course he did. And you just stood by, not being helpful at all. Malcolm did notice your quietness but did not comment on it. Not when you were with his father. He would ask you later today, when you were back at home.
Sam sent you a message earlier today, asking for your address to meet up. This meant that they would not take much longer. The knock on the door was confirmation enough. Malcolm walked over, ready to open it & you did not have enough time to warn him. Oh, this was bound to be fun.
âUhâŠHello?â Malcolm, everyone. Great first impression.
âYouâre not (Y/N).â you could make out Deanâs voice. Walking up to where Malcolm was standing in the doorway, you looked over his shoulder & smiled at your brothers. They really were here, it had been too long. Softly pushing Malcolm out of the way, you pulled both of them in a long overdue hug. It was only then when you realized how much you had missed them. Malcolm observed the interaction from afar, confusion obviously shown on his face. Right now, you could only focus on the men in front of you, though.
âItâs good to see you guys again.â smiling widely at them. Sam nodded at you & even Dean could not hide the small smile that was forming on his face.
âIâm sorryâŠCan I help you guys?â Malcolm spoke up, waiting for answers from either you or the strangers that now entered his apartment.
âNo, but weâll help you.â Dean walked over to Malcolm & patted his shoulder.
âSam, Dean. This is Malcolm. Malcolm. These are my brothers.â you awkwardly introduced them to each other. Malcolmâs mouth hang open & he could not form a coherent sentence.
âNice to meet you.â Sam held out his hand & it took Malcolm a second to shake it.
âYour brothers?â Malcolm whisper-yelled.
âYeah?â
âAnd what are they doing here?â it was not his intention to sound rude, you knew that. Yet, he seemed rather frustrated because you clearly knew they were coming over but decided against telling your boyfriend.
âRemember when I told you that they had a similar job to ours?â Malcolm nodded at you. âThis case weâre working onâŠthatâs one of their kind. We wouldnât be able to solve it without their help.â you tried explaining.
âWe have the best working team out there! Of course we couldâve solved it alone!â but you simply shook your head at him. He would understand sooner or later.
Sam & Dean sat down on the expensive couch, Dean putting his feet on the coffee table. Good thing Malcolm did not care too much about his furniture. Malcolm & you brought drinks from the kitchen & sat across from them. Dean only eyed Malcolm, though. The inevitable was about to happen, you just hoped Malcolm would deliver accordingly.
âWho the hell are you?â he was judging Malcolm & neither Samâs elbow nudging him nor your dirty look changed the way he looked at him. What could you say? Dean was very protective of you, even after ages of not talking.
âMalcolm Bright, profiler for the NYPD.â that made the brothersâ eyebrows raise. Thank God he did not let slip that he was the son of a serial killer.
âYouâre working for the police?â Sam eyed Malcolm, now being confused as to why you would get them involved with the police even though you were aware of what they had been through.
âWell, yeah. I mean, (Y/N) & I met there.â Malcolm reasoned. Great, the cat was out of the bag now.
âSeriously (Y/N)?â Dean lookedâŠdisappointed?
âOkay, wait a minute. Let me explain!â Sam & Dean nodded at you to continue. âWhen I left you guys, I really tried to leave this life behind. I did. But I still wanted to help people. SoâŠone thing came to another & then I was part of the NYPD &-â you were interrupted by Dean, of course.
âAnd slept around with this guy?â Dean looked Malcolm over & you rolled your eyes at him. Malcolm looked offended but stayed silent.
âThis guy is my boyfriend. And his name is Malcolm.â you defended him. âAnd I asked you to help me with this case, not with my dating life.â looking at Dean sternly, he nodded at you & apologized. He could get caught up in the heat of the moment but you had more important things to focus on.
Throughout your talk, Malcolm sent you questioning looks every now & then. You brushed him off, telling him you would explain it later. Sam & Dean got the message & tried keeping the talk casual. Clearly, your boyfriend did not know about the supernatural & it would be better if it stayed that way.
âOkay, so tomorrow, weâll talk to Norman & see what we can find out.â Malcolm concluded after some long confusing hours.
âSammy & I need some sleep after that long ass drive anyway. Weâll be meeting at his house first thing in the morning. Donât be late.â when he said that, he stared at Malcolm. Rolling your eyes at his childish antics, you slapped him lightly on the chest.
âDo you wanna stay here for the night?â you asked when they were walking to the front door.
âUm, no. Weâre checked in at the motel a few blocks down. BesidesâŠâ Dean gestured wildly with his hands. âThis entire apartment looks too luxurious for us. How did you get so much money anyway?â Dean asked, again motioning at the expensive looking apartment.
âItâs actually MalcolmâsâŠI moved in not too long ago.â explaining to both of them. Sam nodded, looking satisfied with your current living situation. Dean, of course, had another thing to comment on.
âOh wow, (Y/N)âŠGood catch.â winking at you, you shoved him out of the apartment, shaking your head.
âGood night!â you said before closing the door behind them, letting out a long sigh.
âYour brothers areâŠnice.â Malcolm started. You winced at his choice of words. In your head, it all worked out way better.
âIâm sorry, MalâŠThey can be quite protective.â
âNo, itâs fine, I get it. Theyâre, uh, very into this religious thing, huh?â
âOh, you have noooo idea.â you chuckled.
âWhy didnât you tell me they were coming by?â
âI donât knowâŠI guess I didnât want you to think that youâre not good enough for this case.â
âBut?â
âBut I need you to trust me when I tell you that Sam & Dean are the ones who should handle this one.â
âI trust you, you know that, (Y/N). But you have to give me permission to say âI told you so.â when we solve this case without their help.â Malcolm held out his hand for you to shake.
âDeal.â you smiled at him. Your brothers & boyfriend might not become best friends but you did not expect them to. All you wanted was to get rid of whatever killed that priest. And you knew that the supernatural feared Sam & Dean. This would be over soon.
âYou sure these are the same guys who were at our apartment yesterday?â Malcolm whispered to you when you were approaching two men in suits. Not their usual flannel attire, they were working a job after all.
âJust play along, alright?â Malcolm nodded at you. He promised to trust you on this & you seemed like you knew what you were doing.
âDetectives.â Dean greeted you.
âShut up.â you threw back almost immediately. Sam & Dean laughed at your comment.
âI missed you, lil sis.â Dean said with a genuine tone, one that made you smile wildly.
âAlright, letâs do this.â Sam knocked on the door, waiting for it to open. They introduced themselves as FBI & showed the woman in the doorway their badges. Shooting Malcolm a look as if to say âDonât ask.â & he just acted as if he had not seen this. The woman led you upstairs to a room. She warned you to not cross the salt lines. All of you nodded. Well, all but Malcolm. The poor man could not understand a thing. Sometimes you wished you were this innocent when it came to cases like this. If it were not for Malcolm, this would have felt like the good old days when you spent your time solving case after case with your brothers. Yeah, it had been dangerous & exhausting but you still liked being a hunter. Also, the three of you were one hell of a team.
The door opened & you were met with countless geometrical lines made out of salt. Because a simple circle would not do the job or what? Fucking show-off. Careful not to mess with the salt, the four of you stepped inside the dark room. Normanâs back was facing you. While Sam & Dean simply took in the room to check for any indicators of anything supernatural, Malcolm started interrogating Norman. You signaled the boys to let him do his job.
âThe salt keeps him out.â suddenly, Normanâs voice was way deeper than when he first started talking. Weird guy. Still, you did not think it was him.
âWho?â Malcolm asked in a calm voice. He was good at this. Even though he almost always got himself killed.
âThe demon.â Norman said. What the hell was wrong with him? Malcolm turned around to you & found the three of you rolling your eyes. Really desperate if a person wanted to be a demon.
âHeâs clearly mentally ill.â Malcolm stated quietly.
âOh, really?â you sarcastically shot back. Who would have thought? Malcolm started lifting one of his foot, meaning to cross the line.
âMal, wait. Donât.â you warned him but when did Malcolm ever listen? You were not sure how Norman even noticed Malcolm crossing the line, his back was still facing you after all, but all of a sudden things escalated. Apparently, Norman thought Malcolm was a demon. He was everything but, really. He just had some demons to fight but he was not one. Norman was grabbing a lamp, wanting to attack Malcolm with it but you got everything sorted before anything bad could happen. Norman was on his way in the hospital & you were just glad that everyone was fine.
When all of you were outside the house again, Sam & Dean looked annoyed.
âDude, we wasted time with this madman.â Dean started. âThatâs bullshit.â
âDean, stop.â you cut him off before the situation got too intense. âHe was the only suspect we had. We couldnât have known he was mentally ill.â
âWe should check out the church tonight.â Sam suggested.
âWhy at night?â Malcolm asked curiously.
âOh, look how precious he is.â Dean mocked. If he kept acting that way you might as well salt & burn his bones next. Turning to Malcolm, you tried reasoning with him.
âBecause we canât risk people watching us. Not when weâre doing this.â Malcolm understood but he also planned a lot of questions for when you were back home.
âAlright, weâll meet there later. Dean & I will take care of everything we might need.â Sam said before walking off to Baby.
âI see you took great care of her.â nudging Dean, motioning at the beautiful â67 Chevy Impala. Another thing you had missed dearly. Countless nights had been spent in the backseat, you associated this car with a lot of happy memories.
âAlways.â Dean smiled at you. âBaby misses you, too, you know?â
âIâm sure she does. After all, I had the brains. Of course she misses my smartness.â Dean shook his head at you, rolling his eyes at the same time. Saying goodbye & turning around, Malcolm gave you a look.
âWhat?â
âBaby? Her? You sure you were talking about the car?â oh, that was bothering him. Now you understood.
âItâs a long story.â you laughed & gave him a kiss on the cheek before walking past him. He let out a short laugh & smiled at your actions.
â(Y/N)? I think we should talk.â Malcolm started shortly after you entered your shared apartment.
âOh noâŠthatâs never a good sign.â
âWhatâs going on here?â you could tell he was serious. Fuck, you hated lying to him. One of the reasons why you had barely mentioned your brothers was to avoid questions you did not want to answer. It was now or never. Telling Malcolm to sit down, you were about to start at the very beginning. There were still a few hours left before you had to be at the church, might as well use it appropriately. Hopefully, Malcolm did not decide to leave you after opening up to him.
âSoâŠyouâre telling me that monsters are real, your brothers hunt them down & you used to help them before you left.â you nodded when Malcolm tried processing what you had just told him. âAnd my girlfriend saved the world more than once.â he concluded.
âPretty much, yeah.â he was silent for a few seconds. That would be the moment he would ask you to leave.
âMy girlfriend is a badass.â Malcolm mumbled & started laughing then. You joined in.
âReally? Thatâs all you have to say?â you questioned, not really believing that he dealt with it so casually.
âOh, donât get me wrong, Iâm freaking out.â he confessed. âYou know, makes me think of all the cases we couldnât solve. Maybe we werenât successful because ofâŠsupernatural beings playing a part. But honestly, itâs just another thing that got added to my plate. Nothing I canât handle.â
âMalâŠâ
âNo, really. I mean it. Besides, now I know that if I ever meet a monster, youâre here to fight it off. Or your brothers. If I were a monster, Iâd be scared as shit of them.â Malcolm finished & you laughed, throwing your entire body back on the couch. That actually went quite well? At least something positive.
Churches were creepy in general. But churches at night? That was a whole other level of madness. You met Sam & Dean at the Impala, Deanâs face buried in the trunk, looking for suitable weapons. Malcolm had promised not to question your actions & you were thankful for it. Because you had other things to focus on. Dean handed out weapons which you gladly accepted.
âMal? You gotta promise me to stay behind.â concerning eyes met his & he knew better than to argue with you. Malcolm gulped but nodded anyway.
âYou ready to do this?â Sam asked.
âI am but I think (Y/N)âs a little rusty.â Dean commented.
âJust...letâs get this over withâŠâ rolling your eyes at Dean, you hated to admit that he was most likely right. You had not been on a hunt in a very long time but you knew you could fight when push came to shove.
The four of you entered the church silently, weapons at ready. After walking around for a while, Dean lifted his hand to stop you all. Trying to get a better look at what made him freeze, you were shocked when you saw Jonah, the painter, pacing these holy grounds. Why did you not think of him? It was quite obvious, really. Maybe you were getting rusty.
âWell, he is a demon, no doubts, but he isnât Abaddon.â Dean spoke, quietly enough as to not get caught. âSo if you guys distract this son of a bitch, I can catch him off guard from behind & stab him.â
âNo, wait. You canât kill him, Dean.â you argued. There was still a possibility of a human being somewhere inside.
âWhat? Why?â Dean turned towards you & tilted his head in confusion. Sighing out, you tried to talk some sense into him.
âLet Sam do an exorcism. We donât know if Jonahâs still in there.â Dean thought about this for a few seconds but nodded afterwards. Sam grabbed an old lore book with the exorcism inside. He remembered the words by heart but better safe than sorry, right? Your plan was to stay hidden, the church was dark enough to do that without getting caught.
The demon was confused when he heard the first words of the exorcism, already struggling to stay inside Jonah. Good, he was not a strong one. Malcolm stayed close with you. Sam & Dean each took one side of the church, just in case something went wrong. Sam continued with the latin words & the demon was unable to move anymore. He was trapped in one place. That was when all of you made yourself shown to him. Hopefully, Jonah was still alive in there. If not, you had a lot of explaining to do. You already had but another dead person would make everything even more complicated.
âI AM ABADDON!â the demon screamed & you noticed that he barely had enough strength to stay in Jonahâs body anymore. Malcolm stayed in the background, simply observing & letting you do your job.
âIâm sure you wanna be, pal.â Dean got closer to the demon but not too close for it to be dangerous. âBut we got rid of her a long time ago.â and it was true. Abaddonâs death was years ago. Why this demon thought to be her? You were not sure. But you also did not care. You just wanted this to be over. Sam finished the ritual & black smoke came out of Jonahâs mouth. After that, he fell to the floor & all of you ran over to him. Malcolm checked for a pulse & nodded when he felt it. Letting out a breath, you were glad that you could save him. Grabbing your phone out of your pocket, you dialed 911 & called Gil right after.
In no time, cars were surrounding the church. Sam, Dean, Malcom & you were standing in a small circle outside. Gil approached you.
âWhat the hell happened? And who the hell are you guys?â the second question was directed at your brothers who coughed a little, not knowing how to answer. Time to sell a little fake story.
âGil, these are Sam & Dean, my brothers.â Gil shook both menâs hands.
âDidnât know you had brothers.â he noted.
âLong storyâŠAnyway, they came to visit & stayed at our apartment. They kinda overheard Malcolm & I talking about the case. Sam, here, has the brains-â
âHey!â Dean feigned hurt at your words.
âAnd he pieced everything together. We didnât wanna waste time & before I even had the chance to call you, we had already caught him.â as soon as you finished, Malcolm joined in to help with your little white lie.
âJonah was poisoned by the lead in the paint he was using. It can cause dissociative behavior that can be mistaken for possession.â thank God for Malcolm âHuman Dictionaryâ Bright. Gil could not argue with this so he simply went back over to the rest of the team. Nice job.
âThanks guys.â addressing Sam & Dean.
âSo thatâs it, huh?â Sam asked, sad that he knew he had to let you go again. Yet, he supported your decision.
âHey, Malcolm?â Dean looked at him. âI wanna show you something, come on.â Malcolm followed Dean to the black car which left you alone with Sam.
âHeâs gonna kill him, isnât he?â Sam laughed at your words.
âPossibly.â then he turned serious again. âI miss you.â Sam confessed, his jaw clenching.
âI miss you, too, Sammy.â looking up at him, you continued. âAnd Iâm sorry for disappearing off the radar. Itâs justâŠwhen I left, this entire starting new thing took more time than I thought it would.â
âI get it & Iâm not asking you to come back with us. I can see that you like it here. Youâve finally found your happiness & by the way Malcolm looks at you? Heâs utterly in love with you, (Y/N). Take care of yourself, okay?â
âI will, I promise. You, too. Call me when youâre starting the next apocalypse.â you joked with him. He then pulled you into a big hug, one that you had missed so much. Sam always gave the best hugs.
âWhat is it?â Malcolm asked Dean, nervous as to why he wanted to talk to him alone.
âLook, man, (Y/N)âs my little sister & Iâd do anything for her. So if you ever hurt herâŠknow that Iâll beat the crap outta you.â Malcolm gulped but found enough courage to answer him.
âI love (Y/N). Iâd never to do anything to hurt her. I get why you worry, I do. But sheâs safe here. I promise.â
âHey Dean, go easy on him.â their heads snapped in the direction your voice was coming from. By the smile on your face, he knew you were joking. Sam & you reached the car.
âIâll miss you.â approaching Dean, you were more than satisfied when he opened his arms for you to pull you into a hug. He pressed a soft kiss on top of your head before releasing you again.
âMalcolm promised me to keep you safe.â
âDid he now?â turning around, eyeing your boyfriend with a smirk.
âCheck in with us, okay?â Dean grew serious.
âI will, I promise. You guys take care of yourselves, okay?â both men nodded. âTell Cas I said hi. How are you two doing anyway?â you stopped briefly to wink at him which made Sam chuckle quietly. âAnd bring him next time.â
âAlright, goodbye.â Dean said, laughing at you, Sam joining him.
âBye, guys.â you waved at them when they got into the car.
Leaning into Malcolmâs side, you could feel his arm sneaking around your waist to keep your close. For a few moments, you stood there in silence, watching the Impala slowly disappear out of your view.
âDo I need to be jealous of this Cas guy?â Malcolm asked all of a sudden & you broke out into laughter. His confused face was hilarious.
âTrust me, Mal. If you meet him, youâll know that thereâs no need to be jealous.â tears were threatening to escape your eyes. The simple image of you & Cas together made you laugh out loud.
âI guess I need to trust you on that.â
âHey, remember what you said when you thought we wouldnât need help solving this case?â you asked him, changing the topic entirely. His face showed you that he did, in fact, not remember.
âI told you so.â you smirked at him, enjoying how his smile slowly faltered. Rolling his eyes at you, he wanted to say a witty remark. You knew what he was trying to do but before he had the chance, you silenced him with a long, soft kiss. That always managed to do the job. Pulling away after a few seconds, you lovingly stared into his eyes. This moment could have been overly romantic. If it were not for you putting salt into his wound.
âI told you so.â repeating your previous words, you walked away from him, sarcastically smiling as you did so. You were right about this & Malcolm prepared himself to hear the same words over & over from now on.
Rampage (Chapter 1)
JAMES BOND X READER
This is the first chapter of my first series! Iâm really super excited! This was a request made by the lovely @iamcavainna, but I did make some minor changes (like making it into a series lol)... Also, except for a few paragraphs in this chapter, the whole series will be from Bondâs point of view.Â
I did not reference race, gender, sexuality, or physical appearance. If I missed something, please let me know so I can change it!
Summary: May i request a James Bond x reader where the reader is Jamesâs wife/fiancĂ© and Mâs niece. She gets kidnapped by a group who want to get back at them for whatever reason and James, as expected, freaks out and is about to go on a rampage looking for her but when M gets wind of it, everyone expects her to stop him but she doesnât. James is prepared to burn the world to get the reader back
Warnings: abduction, angst, wall punching, destruction of property, stalking, breaking and entering
Chapter 1: Cologne
As soon as he had gotten off of the elevator, he knew that something was off. The hallway to his partner's flat seemed longer and more quiet than usual. The floor creaked one too many times. The air was thicker.
The door was open.
Not all the way open, but just a crack.Â
He gently kicked the door so he could see inside. No one was there and not a sound was made. He gripped the gun in his pocket.Â
"(Y/N)?"Â
Slowly, he entered the flat and took in all the demolition. Pillows, books, china - among so much else - was strewn across the floor. The bookshelf had been pushed to the floor and there was a large crack running down one side. The potted plants that had rested by the windows had been dumped out in the middle of the carpet. Several of your favorite paintings had big rips in them and the others had holes cut out.
"Darling?"
In the kitchen there was glass covering every inch of the tiled floor making it impossible to cross, but he didn't need to move to see the mess. The kitchen table was overturned with one of its legs broken - splinters sticking out in all directions. It looked like someone had snapped your plates in half then dumped them in the sink, save for a few that had been thrown against the wall. Appliances were smashed apart and rendered completely useless.Â
The bedroom was no better. Clothes were shredded and tossed about. The bedside lamps had been smashed to bits. Every drawer had been overturned - two of them reduced to pieces. The mattress had been taken out the bed and springs were coming out of it. Feathers from your pillows covered almost every surface.Â
From what he could tell, nothing of value had been taken except for one thing.
You.
-----
You had been staying with a friend. It was a rather impromptu sleepover. The two of you had gone drinking to celebrate your recent engagement and ended up having a little too much. As the responsible adults you were at least trying to be, you decided to crash at her place instead of making your way home.Â
The next morning, with a noticeable headache, you left early in the morning. Your fiancé was going to be coming home later in the day, and you had some cleaning to do. Nothing too serious, but it's always nice to come home to clean sheets and no dirty dishes.
However, it seemed that the day had something entirely else planned for you...
You're sitting in a seat by the door trying not to doze off when someone sits two seats away from you. Normally, you'd think nothing of it, but his strong cologne was aggravating your hangover. Trying to distract yourself, you try to read the train map across from you for the umpteenth time, however you can't help but see the man's reflection in the glass. His head is turned towards you.Â
Now your hangover wasn't the only thing making you feel uncomfortable.Â
Thankfully the next stop is yours and it only takes you seconds to get on the platform. Not looking back, you start to weave through the crowd, determined to get to the exit. The uncomfortable feeling follows you and it takes you a moment to realize why: the cologne smell was lingering.Â
Before you reached the elevators to another platform, a strong grip takes hold of your arm.
-----
"Haven't I told you to never break into my house again?"Â
"Ma'am."
"It's becoming a habit of yours."
"Sorry."
"One more time and you're off."
"I know."
"...I can't give you information that I don't have."
"Don't have or don't have authority to?"
"...Don't have authority to." M takes her coat off, but doesn't bother putting it away, opting to sit down instead.
"That's new."
"I do have my ways, you know." Out of her pant pocket, she pulls out a photograph of a man. "Don't look at me like that, Bond. Are you going to take it or not?" James reaches a hand out and she gives it to him. "He was seen with (Y/N) this morning in the tube." James looks up at that, his blue eyes more piercing than usual. "His name is Reid Slane and he's a freelancer of sorts."
"Where can I find him?"
"The address is written on the other side." James flips the photo over, glances over the writing, and slips in into the inside pocket of his coat. He goes to stand up but M stops him. "I hope you fully realize what's at stake here. If anything happens, I won't be able to cover for you - for either one of us."
"I know." He stands up and starts for the door.
"And Bond," He turns to see her looking directly at him.
"Yes, ma'am?"
"Raise hell."
I really hope that you all liked it! The next chapter should come out sometime this weekend? Iâm not sure because my schedule is all over the place. Anyway, as usual, please send me any requests or constructive criticism. I love hearing any kind of feedback!
25 - Just Chatting...
Hello one and all.
It's been a long time since I graced these pages and, believe it or not, nothing much has been happening in my life, apart from the odd soiree or two. Winter has finally left us and spring has sprung, and it's nice to see the sun again. Let's start by wishing my old mate a happy birthday and I hope you all had a little drinkie for him, I know I did. In fact I got legless, he would have been proud of me. Whenever we were in London there was always a party at Fred's on his birthday, be it a handful of friends, or one where he invited half of Britain, but which ever one it was there was always a good time to be had and a lot of chaos. One year he actually took over Pikes Hotel in Ibiza and chartered a private plane to fly his friends in. Roger and myself were already on the island recording some of his solo stuff so we didn't have far to travel to the bash. When I say we were working, it's kind of true as we spent a lot of time on his boat "Ga Ga" whizzing around having lunch and fun. The party was held outside around the swimming pool, now is that an invite for trouble or what? There were hundreds of balloons hanging from every available fixture, and of course there is always an idiot that thinks he's a clown. This particular clown, who will remain nameless, decided it would be funny to light one of the balloons, and needless to say the whole lot went up in flames. Phoebe and Crystal to the rescue. We had to get this "fire" off the wooden rafters before the whole hotel went up in smoke, so we were pulling bits of string while burning rubber was dripping down on us. I was so traumatised by the whole event I had to have another drink ....... a lame excuse I know, but hey, it's my story. Back to the pool. Edwin Shirley, of trucking fame and also an all round good guy after a few too many, decided to have a swim, so he removed his clothing and was flapping around the pool when some daft countess told him to get dressed and behave himself. Wrong move lady. Edwin was not impressed by his telling off and threw her in, and she was even less impressed with that and started ranting and raving, much to the amusement to the rest of the party hounds. She left with her tail between her legs and didn't look at all glamorous in her soaking wet dress, running makeup and failed hairdo. We continued till mid morning and went straight to the airport and caught a flight home. Thanks F for the great parties and good times, you will never be forgotten.
I still get asked a lot if I'm gonna write the "Real" story about Queen. Well the answer is no, and the reason is that the guys gave me a great job and a great life and I have far to much respect for them, their wives/girlfriends, children and families to tell the world what we got up to in private. I feel that is our business and ours alone. Most of us are all in relationships and telling tales could make life awkward for a few people, band and crew alike. I'm sure at some point in time someone from the organisation will write a book, have 5 minutes of fame and make a quick buck, but it sure as hell won't be me, and I'll still be able to sleep at night and when I see the guys I will still be free to say, "Wanna beer MATE."
I've had a few questions asked me that I'm gonna answer quickly.
First off is "Do you have any stories about Freddies cats? (ripping furniture etc.)" Here's a good reply, No. So moving right along, "Of all the famous people you've met, who impressed you the most?" Tricky one this. After years in this "Biz" they all become "Just normal people," and some become good pals, but on one occasion I was in Paul McCartneys studio and I was handed his violin bass and I was sitting there holding it when someone said, "Paul is left handed, hold it like he would." When I turned it around, still taped in the cutout was the Beatles set list from their days in Hamburg, now that impressed me.
Deaky and myself were the only two reggae lovers in the outfit, and Bob Marley turned up to see the show at Madison Square Gardens. Strange choice of show for Bob, but he loved Another one bites the dust, and he happened to be in New York on a stopover on his way to Germany for laser treatment. Show time and our intro tape was playing, and someone told JD that Bob was in the audience, so he cranked his bass up and played "Lively up yourself" over the tape. This was very possibly the last time Marley ever heard this played as he died shortly after. I didn't get to meet him, but I did get to meet Tyrone Downie, Bobs keyboard player in the Wailers, and Tyrone and myself got up to all sorts of mischief that night. RT on the other hand hates reggae music, but I did manage to drag him to the Circus Krone in Munich to see Peter Tosh. I loved it, he hated it. I look at this as payback because years before he insisted that I went to Hammersmith Odeon to see Laurie Anderson, of O Superman fame. This show he loved, but I put it alongside Cher as one of the worst concerts I have ever seen. Needless to say I have also met a couple of stars that I didn't see eye to eye with. Like the American rock star we encountered in a club one night, and he was such a pain I had to take him into the toilets to have a quiet word with him. He finally got the message so I released my hand from around his neck and let him drop back down to the ground. To finish this segment I wanna tell you something that Bev Bevan said. Bev was the drummer with ELO, and them and us were touring the US at the same time, and as it turned out, staying in the same hotel in one city. Roger and myself were leaving the hotel and waiting for the elevator. When the doors opened Bev was in there and him and RT said their hellos. Rog then said, "Bev, this is Crystal, he looks after me." Bev turned to me, shook my hand and said, "Pleased to meet you. If it wasn't for guys like you, guys like us wouldn't be where we are today." He didn't need to say that, and was genuine when he did. I wasn't impressed with meeting him, but he is certainly in my top ten of nicest people I have ever meet.
Over the last few months I've spent a lot of time in the Chatroom, and I highly recommend it to you all as it can be a bit of a laugh. For anyone who has never visited the room please remember a couple of things, if you come in and start swearing you will be kicked out. I know, it happens to me all the time. Also don't come in and start going on about knowing axemen and murderers and other such garbage, cause that also warrants a kicking. Some buffoon from Ireland, who went by the name of "Death" turned up with an attitude and was going on about how f***ing awesome Queen were at Slane Castle. He was not known by anyone in there so I asked him to watch his language. He said he was the Grim Reaper and could do and say what he liked, so I told him otherwise and he was most put out when I kicked him. What a fool. A while ago there was some prat who called himself F***queen, good name eh! Anyway, he/she/it was picking on a lovely young lady called Raisa, and was saying some awful things to her and completely freaked her out, so I went to her defence and FQ turned the attention my way. As far as I'm concerned it's only letters on a screen and it didn't phase me at all, but at least he/she/it gave up on Raisa. In all fairness to FQ, whoever you may be, he/she left a message on the Bulletin Board saying sorry to Raisa and myself and would never do it again. So FQ, from the both of us, thanks for the apology, we accept it. What other weirdos have we had? Well, there was a brightspark who decided it would be funny to use the nickname QueenRshite, another bad move from this person who was honoured with a ban.
While in there I've seen a lot of friendships made, and a couple that have fallen apart. I got a private message one evening from a very drunk girl who, how shall we phrase this, offered me her body and wanted to do all sorts of naughty things to me, I thanked her and declined...must be getting old or something. I have also witnessed relationships being made and, usually there is a lot of humour involved, but needless to say some arguments do occur. I have also seen some of the daftest things said. One guy was so convinced that one of the regulars was either Deaky or she was chatting with him in private that he actually started tracking her every move on the net. He also told me about some highly illegal activities he was up to concerning the band. I wouldn't have thought I was the best person to tell such stuff to, and needless to say I had a go at him. Just to add to his stupidity he's been recently boasting about his affair with an underage girl, and I reckon if he had any more sense he would be half witted. Having mentioned all the twits I'd like to say a quick hello to all the regulars, White Queen and Killer Queen, the lovely girls Blue Rock and Rannnnnnni, SQJan, Mayflower and her boys, Farookh (aka Leroy Brown) MarshMallow, the three Tigers - Babe, Lily and Stripes and the mighty Falc, also to all the rest who I haven't mentioned by name, you know who you are. I'd also like to say hi to Daddy Cool who is the singer in the Dutch cover band Miracle, and Dad, if you never make it as a singer you could make a great career from being a stand up comedian. Finally an extra special hello to the gorgeous MTB, who is about to make an honest man of me ;)
Before I go I'm sure I don't need to remind anyone of a certain date in November that is engraved in all of our minds. And I know that a lot of you will be heading to Garden Lodge to leave flowers. I don't wanna preach and tell you what to do, and I know flowers are a nice gesture, but they do die and the only people to really benefit from this is the florist. This year lets all give a donation, no matter how small, to Aids research, this way the cash will be used to try and stamp out this awful disease. If you really wanna leave flowers, buy a smaller, cheaper bunch and donate the balance of what you would have spent to these charities. It's been said a million times before but it is true, Every penny counts.
As always, Loadsa Love.
Readerâs adventure as sheâs taken by force from her home and brought into a world she doesnât understand. The only thing she knows for sure is that, she belongs to Varg now. | Iâm a huge Vikings fan, like I loved reading about them when I was growing up, and hearing about how my family is probably related to them, beside the point. I love the shows The Last Kingdom and Vikings, so when this came up on my dashboard I knew I had to read this. Iâm so freaking glad that I did. I LOVE it. Trust me you will love it too! Viking Bucky is everything. I promise even though itâs only 3 chapters in, and itâs still so amazing!
Rip and Tear by @buckysbee » soft!dark!Bucky Barnes x Female Reader â something either went terribly wrong or terribly right down in the water of that river. | Let me just say this one-shot as a whole surprised me, it is so good but the ending just leaves you shocked because you donât see it coming. I would highly recommend reading this, and I hope there is more to this, but at the same time, the ending is so perfect. Bee you did wonderfully.
Even when Iâm mad Iâm still holding on to you by @river-soul » Bucky Barnes x Reader â When Maria Hill tries to convince you to leave behind your job as an analyst for a more active role in the field, Bucky doesnât take it well. [Language, mentions of breeding and explicit sex. 18+] | The smut in this is so freaking good and so is the plot. I would just like to thank the writer for the gift that this one-shot was.
It Never Stops by @sxbby-barnes » Bucky Barnes x Reader â A lead in the ruins of Sokovia brings a face from the past back. | Reader is badass simple as that and the plot is just so good. Writers
@syntheticavenger my power went out Tuesday night so what better did I have to do than binge-read the masterlist of Synths. My two favorite stories are Ticking Clock a Dark!Andy Barber x Reader and Bridges to Burn & Places to Run, ParoleOfficer!Bucky Barnes x Criminal!Reader and CrimeBoss Thor x Criminal!Reader. Synths put so much thought into bringing all the characters she writes to life, you sometimes almost feel as if you are watching them play out on TV.
Shout Out To My...
@the-ce-horniest-book-club â if you have heard of @the-ss-horniest-book-club and @the-th-horniest-book-club, than you hopefully youâve heard of Chris Evanâs one. They are the sister blog and like Sebastian and Tom Hiddleston one will have themed days and challenges involving the characters that Chris has played and him himself! Chapter 2. Get him back
The day he left you it was pouring, and in your mind, it rained ever since. Hours turned into days, days turned into weeks, and weeks flew by. You did everything on autopilot, without thinking or differentiating between tasks. Everything around you was a grey mess, and you couldnât maintain a single thought in your head, not one thought that didnât have something to do with the breakup.
Was it even that? He just left, telling you that it was âfor your own goodâ. Asking for no opinions. Frankly, you were angry with him. You would've been furious, but it was hard to tap into your irritation when it hurt so much in your chest. For the first time in your life, you realized that you were gone too far. So far, that you felt like a piece of you was missing now. The one youâd possibly never get back.
You also realized that you belonged fully to that friend circle as well â there wasnât even anyone for you to talk to anymore, or wallow with, which made your sorry ass feel even more pathetic. Your entire world revolved around your protective boyfriend of three years, and now that he was gone it felt as unsafe as ever. Who knows, maybe it was your sixth sense alerting you as to what was to come.
It happened over a month after your last encounter with Baekhyun.
You were lounging in the campus library, mostly because your weeks of heartbreak caused you to miss a few deadlines, so now you had to take additional assignments to do well at the finals. Having no inspiration, or better yet, no one to hurry to, made you stay there for long hours, barely managing to get one task completed at a time.
The space was almost empty since it was rather late, and looking around you suddenly felt a tinge of nostalgia. Muttering that you should get ahold of your stupid self, you walked slowly towards the tall aisle with your useless book. In the labyrinth, you wandered for a bit, reminiscing of the first interaction with your⊠now ex? Your first boyfriend? Your first love?
The thought left a bitter taste in your mouth, and you opted for walking further as if surrounded by books you could somehow block your bubbling feelings out.
A strange sound caught your attention.
No idea why, you kept walking towards it, soon stepping around the corner and freezing on the spot.
Only a few feet away there was a couple making out. The girl was pressed harshly into the shelves and grunted, as her partner shoved one hand underneath her shirt to squeeze her breast, and his other one grasped her neck, adding to the obscenity of their misplaced passion. You were ready to flush tomato red and vanish on the spot when you noticed something⊠familiar.
That side profile.
You would never mistake it for anyone elseâs.
Wide-eyed in shock, you almost jumped when the male turned around, dark irises foreign to you. His eyebrow raised slightly as he took in your distress with half-lidded eyes, not even bothering to stop groping the girl.
âB- Baekhyun?â You said in such a tiny voice that you barely even heard yourself.
The sound of your book dropping to the floor ripped you out of the stupor, and you turned around. Out of the labyrinth you ran, not even bothering to put your belongings back into your bag neatly. You simply grabbed everything from the table and kept running. The surroundings were blurry, but you could see one thing clearly â his lustful eyes, mocking your naivety.
It hurt too much. Unable to hold your tears till you make it home, you found yourself locked in the stall of the nearest bathroom. The way you cried there was almost physically painful, and you struggled to catch enough air as you did. Nor did you care enough to prevent yourself from making noises. Your whole body was shaking with your sobs, and you werenât entirely sure you hadnât gone crazy just then. From seeing what you saw. From reopening the still-hurting wounds and seasoning them richly with salt.
However long it took you to dehydrate yourself with the seeping sorrow, you managed to stop, hiccupping only every now and then. Finally shoving your laptop and notes into your bag, you got out of the stall. Walking up to a mirror on wobbly legs, you gasped at your puffy face and red swollen eyes. Not that you really cared, but it was quite late, so you had good chances of sneaking out and getting home unnoticed.
Unless someone would be purposefully waiting for you to show your face, of course.
You took notice of the dark figure across the hall momentarily after exiting the bathroom. Turning the other way, you increased the pace of your steps, almost breaking into running speed to put some distance between the two of you.
âHey,â a voice called from behind, and you felt a hand grabbing your upper arm to stop you.
The nerve he had.
âDonât fucking touch me!â You barked at him, ripping away from his grasp fiercely.
He blinked, letting go, and you almost hiccupped again at the sight of his hair â even more silvery-white now than when he left you, slightly unkempt (from the prior activities, no less). As he opened his mouth to say something, you beat him to it.
âDonât talk to me. Donât even look at me. You make me sick!â You spat, wanting to both claw at his beautifully sculpted face and to snivel pathetically again. Instead, you turned around and took off before he gathered himself enough to try initiating a conversation again.
Because⊠What the fuck was he thinking?
***
You fell ill. It probably wasnât unrelated to what happened at the library, but you became so feverish that your roommate was on the verge of driving you to the hospital. Three days later your fever finally broke, however, you felt weak and drained and depressed for another week afterwards.
Staying at home, you kept rewinding back to the âeventâ. How could he? Coming back like that, and not even having the decency to not screw around right under your nose. You were repulsed by what you saw, and it was almost hateful how the heaviness in your chest only worsened. The bitterness of the situation added to it â he lied to you, just to be with someone else weeks, or, perhaps, even days, hours after. Maybe all of it was a lie, you didnât know anymore.
This Baekhyun⊠You didnât think youâd ever known him.
The subsequent week you avoided all of the crowded areas of the campus, dreading that youâd have to face him again. It would be impossible to maintain your calm in that case, so you took all of the possible precautions. But what could you have done if he was looking for you?
Upon your following encounter, you failed your attempt to vanish out of his sight the way you did before. It was essentially you walking into a trap, as you headed home rather late after finally squeezing your last important assignment out on paper. Not giving the outside world a single moment of attention, you stopped at the top of the stairs to put your phone into your bag and zip it up.
âArenât you a mystery woman, Y/N,â the voice almost made you drop your stuff.
You glanced up, taking notice of the murky figure, leaning onto a nearby tree. As he began walking in your direction, you turned on your heels and took off. It felt stupid to run from him like this, but you absolutely did not want to break down in front of him. You wanted to preserve at least some dignity.
As you flew down the stairs, you stumbled and almost dove headfirst to the ground. Thankfully, a swift limb wrapped around you before you could do that.
âAre you dumb?â He exclaimed into your ear.
âLet go of me!â You writhed in his hold, trying to free your body from the illusive familiarity of his touch.
âYouâre a danger to yourself! What the fuck,â he swore under his breath, releasing you at once.
âI told you to leave me alone. Do whatever you want, just stay out of my freaking life, Baekhyun!â You yelled in his face, fuming from his shameless behavior. Why was he acting like nothing was even wrong with this?
âUnbelievable. Your twin screws someone over, and youâre the one held accountable,â he rolled his eyes.
Twin⊠what?
âWhat are you talking about?â You asked in bewilderment.
âI believe, introductions are in order. Iâm BaĂ«khyun, nice to meet you.â
***
That was⊠embarrassing. So embarrassing.
You had no idea there was, well, a live copy of Baekhyun walking around. And even though your ex-boyfriend was secretive, you couldnât believe he left something like this out. Were you an actual joke to him?!
BaĂ«khyun said they werenât particularly close. He explained to you that he hadnât seen his twin in years, and his friends helped him obtain the little knowledge of his whereabouts that led him here. Thinking he could find Baekhyun by asking around he⊠got âinvolvedâ with a girl or two. Or a dozen, who knows? But, apparently, your reaction the first time youâd met piqued his curiosity. When you flushed at the memory, apologizing profusely, he only said that he found it odd and strangely cute, the way you got upset with him.
âIâm not as great of a guy as Baekhyun,â he shrugged. âNot that Iâm trying to be, anyways.â
You frowned.
After the way he left you, Baekhyun was not at the top of your âgreatest people of all timesâ list either. You could understand why your new acquaintance mentioned this, you had witnessed enough to gather that he was not at all well-behaved. Also, his ways of extracting information⊠Not very professional, to say the least. But who were you to judge? Now that youâd learned that he wasnât your ex, you were genuinely ashamed of the hysteria of the past couple of weeks.
But Baëkhyun was different.
When he got your number and promised to text, you didnât think much of it. You hummed and rolled your eyes â as if that was going to happen. Yet he surprised you by sending a quick message the following week. And then⊠you just kept talking. Which went on for a while, whilst youâd grown slightly addicted to it. Somehow, BaĂ«khyun became the only person who could take your mind off of his twin. So, even when you finally went on the long-awaited summer break, you stayed in touch with him. And not only via text â youâd been seeing each other on a regular basis.
Randomly at first â youâd just bump into him somewhere around the university premises, and heâd then suggest grabbing coffee. But as it progressed, you ended up inviting him over for dinner. Partially because you felt acutely lonely with your roommate gone, and partially because⊠you missed him. It was hard to put a finger on it â youâd initially thought that it was just misplaced longing for Baekhyun that pushed you towards his twin, and it felt so wrong. Almost like you wanted to use him to soothe the ache in your heart that had been bothering you ever since your ex-boyfriend had left.
Yet BaĂ«khyun seemed so magnetic. He hypnotized you with his blue eyes, which changed from the icy light color to dark, almost black, and were just as sharp as his twinâs. And his sassy smirk â the one he had plastered across his face almost always. BaĂ«khyun wasnât warm like Baekhyun, yet there was still something about him that had you walking willingly into his trap. Maybe it was the mysterious glint in his eyes as he looked down at you or the way he sized you up whenever he caught a glimpse of you, like you were his prey. Being alone with him felt both dangerous and exciting, and you kept fooling yourself, basing your blind trust on nothing but his relation to your ex.
You never noticed how quickly he managed to build trust between you. And how you didnât even know much about him, yet you did tell him a lot. Like that one time, he asked you where you thought Baekhyun was.
âWouldnât I like to know,â you chuckled, sadness in your voice. âHe just left. I donât think he even kept his phone.â
âI always said he was the dumb one of the two. And to think that heâs the strategist,â he snorted, splayed on your couch comfortably.
You looked at your hands in your lap, subconsciously calming yourself by playing with your fingers.
âStop,â you shivered as his palm covered your fidgety hands. âStop thinking about him.â
Eyes traveling to his face, you caught a glimpse of the frown that formed there.
And then he kissed you. Out of the blue, giving you no time to think or pull away.
And you let him. Grabbing at the soft leather of his pants, you allowed him to do as he pleased with you. BaĂ«khyun tasted familiar, though his kissing was anything but â rough and messy, lots of tongue and teeth, making your head spin with flaming passion. You didnât resist when he pulled you into his lap, or when he ripped your clothes off, item by item. He was not asking and you were not thinking. It didnât feel like something you should stop at the time. Rather, you thought you wouldâve cried had he paused for longer than a second, so you kept clinging to him in response.
The demanding grip he had on your thighs only made you crave it more, lust seeping into your system as you wrapped your arms around his neck and rolled your hips into his. He emitted a deep sound, helping you grind on him.
âGood girl,â he gritted into your lips, landing a slap or two on your ass along the way.
As you kept going, your bare breasts grazed his skin, and your panties became soaked and sticky. You were probably flushed rosy red as you chased the tight feeling in your lower abdomen, his eyes hungrily taking in your frenzy. He slapped you again, a sharp hit resonating through you like electricity.
âBaĂ«k,â you half-moaned. âPlease fuck me-â
You couldnât even believe that you were begging him like that, out loud. But the desperation grew as your body threw itself at him, demanding release.
He moved your panties out of the way, fingers instantly getting wet with your arousal.
âSuch a needy little slut,â he murmured, making you shiver.
It was all new. The name-calling, the manhandling, the way he bit harshly into your lower lip and tugged at your hair. And somehow, it was exactly what you needed.
He didnât waste much time to prep you, opting for taking his already hard length out and running the tip between your folds, making you jolt and cry out, nails digging into the back of his neck.
âSink on my cock and take what you want. Like a bad girl would.â He addressed in a low voice, smearing the remainder of your lipstick over your mouth with his thumb. âWanna be a whore for me?â
âYes,â you muttered, and he smacked you on the ass again, emphasizing that you needed to be louder. âYes!â
He let go of your hips, hands resting on your legs, allowing you to slam down on your own. You whimpered at the slight burn but kept going. Moving this fast wasnât the way you were used to doing it, but all the more exciting for that. Using his shoulders to steady yourself, you worked your hips hard. A sheen of sweat on your chest glimmered as you increased the pace, wailing as his tip nudged at your cervix. He watched you with his dark blue eyes, hands kneading your ass, and filthy mouth guiding you.
âSqueeze your tight little hole.â
Meanwhile, you struggled to maintain the tiresome pace, yet held onto the sensation of his girth pressing against your walls as he glided in and out of you.
âAh fuck, BaĂ«khyun!â You moaned, feeling the tickle of perspiration making its way down your abs.
âI know youâre close.â He licked his lips seductively. âWant me to help?â
âYes, yes, please,â you keened, leg almost cramping from the uncomfortable position.
âLeave your begging for another time, baby. Like I said, if you want something, you should take it.â
You whined, head spinning at the suggestion. His eyes, expectant, traced the stubborn crease between your brows while you kept rocking your hips. Then, you did the first thing that came to your blurry mind. Your hands reached up to grasp his hair and pull hard, tilting his head back and leaving the long column of his neck exposed for the attack of your lips. Sucking a bruise on it harshly, you then used your teeth to ensure heâd have a bright mark in a few hours. Creeping up his neck and his jaw, you licked at his lower lip, and then into his mouth â like an animal would.
âOh,â he smirked, hands seizing you and holding you down, with him snug inside you. âSo, my good girl is not as innocent as she seemed?â He teased, the lustful glint in his eyes boosting your confidence to the level of insolence.
âShut up,â you replied firmly, sliding off of him and flopping backwards to finally get some circulation in your legs. âStop slacking off and make me come, you asshole.â
His eyes flashed at your brazen words. Shoving you roughly until you were flat on your back, he grabbed onto your thighs, dragging you closer to him. Instantly you cried out as he landed two consecutive slaps on your pussy, holding his heavy hard-on at the base. Pleased with your reaction, he did it again, not saying another word before he bottomed out inside you. A new wave of arousal washed over you, and you clenched around him, eyes fluttering shut. He didnât even think to spare you the morning soreness as he nailed you like an actual whore.
âAh right there, right there- oh fuck, BaĂ«khyun,â you sobbed, clawing at his flexed arm, when he placed one of your legs over his shoulder and leaned forward, basically stretching you open for himself.
This position made you feel vulnerable, like you had no choice but to take everything he was giving you, but it was what you needed. His every thrust resonated inside, making your muscles clench, and ripping more curses and moans out of you. Even though his pace was rather brutal, there wasnât too much pain along with it â BaĂ«khyun knew all the right spots.
Mouth agape, you arched your back in silent agony, and a few more hits of his thighs later came so hard that it almost made you pass out on the spot. The hand over your mouth muffled your scream, and he let your leg slide off of his shoulder, pressing his palm against it to keep you in place and prevent you from closing your knees.
Muscles contracting uncontrollably, you whimpered at his continued thrusts as you became too sensitive from the drawn-out pleasure, tears soaking your lashes by the time he finally pulled out.
Baëkhyun grunted lowly, and you opened your eyes to witness him jerk himself off at the sight of your swollen, fucked out pussy, not even blinking until thick ropes of his semen painted your lower belly.
Despite having just performed a thorough fucking, he lowered himself on his elbow slowly and brushed the rogue strands of hair away out of your eyes.
âYouâre a naughty one. I love it,â he murmured, positioning one of his hands on your neck as he kissed you deeply. âDonât worry, Iâll teach you how to be in control.â
And so, you let yourself fall down the rabbit hole. And there was no telling what youâd gotten yourself into.
Boring Bar - Modern Levi x Female Reader
âWhy are we here again?â The raven-haired man asked his friend. âYou need to get out more Levi, So this is me dragging you outâ Erwin smiled back. Levi just scoffed at him and looked around the bar.
Filthy.
âHange and some others are coming soonâ.
Huh!? âShitty glasses and her shitty friends are also coming?â Erwin chuckled and nodded. Leviâs mood became even more shittier. If that was possible. They both drank in silenced for a while. Both ordering the same glass of whisky, Erwin on the rocks, Levi with a twist. The music was typical bar music, boring. Some people were dancing over at the dancefloor. Half the booths were filled, but Erwin and Levi were the only two sitting at the bar. âSo, how have you been?â Erwin asked. He knew the answer. Not good. Levi and Petra had broken up a month ago, and he was still hung up on it. The breakup was really messy. Levi had caught her cheating on him with her co-worker. The biggest clichĂ© in the world. âYou knowâ, Erwin expected something more, but that was the only thing he got from Levi. âOkay, talking about it clearly isnât something you want, but do you know what you need?â Levi raised his eyebrows at the blond. âA rebound!â
âA rebound?â Levi repeated. âYou need a quick one night stand to get over her and move on, it will clear up your head. I promiseâ Levi looked at the man with a questionable look, but didnât push further. They both fell into a silence, Levi still processing his words - was a rebound all he needed?
The glorious silence between the long-time friends was cut short when the bell at the door rang. âLeviiii! Erwinnnn!â Hangeâs voice boomed over the bar. Her and Mike and Nanaba walked over to them and hugged Erwin, (Hange tried to give Levi a hug, but ended up with a elbow in the ribs).
A comfortable conversation fell between the four adults. Even though Levi gave them a hard time for dragging him out, he loved just sitting on the side-line and listening to the conversations. It was comforting. âOh! I forgot to tell you guysâ Hange exclaimed. âWhatâs up four eyesâ.
âAn old friend of mine is coming over and staying with me the next week! Sheâs going to meet us here, you guys fine with her hanging out with us?â.
âOf course! Where do you know her from?â Nanaba asked.
âWe were dorm roommates back in my collage days!â. Hange smiled. âShe is really nice, so you better treat her nice!â She threatened, even though she wasnât that threatening.
The bell over the door rang again. âSheâs here!â Hange waved over a (your height) woman. Hange hugged her and lifted the poor girl up from the ground, her legs kicking in the air. âSo good to see you again!â Hange squealed and danced around, still holding the girl up. âHange, let the poor girl downâ Nanaba looked a bit concerned by her mad scientist friends action. Hange, reluctant, let the girl down and introduced her to her friends.
âThis is (Y/N) (L/N)! My long-time friend form collage!â The group greeted her and Erwin moved over a bar stool she could sit on, moved it next to Levi. He sent the raven man a smug look. Damn eyebrow freak.
âSo, (Y/N), what did you study?â They asked her many questions about her life. They learned that she studied History, (was still studying, but balancing school with working in a flower shop with her brother), she had two cats and her favourite book was Pride and Prejudice. Hange was clearly proud of her friend and showed her of to no extent. Levi noticed the girl, (Y/N) was looking very nervous and would often blush and wiggle in her seat when Hange went on about her life.
Cute.
What was he thinking? He couldnât develop a thing for Hangeâs friend, she was clearly very protective of her and would no doubt rip his dick of if he tried to get with (Y/N). âSo, (Y/N), got a boyfriendâ This time it was Nanaba that asked. This made Levi perk up, for some reason the idea that she had a boyfriend made his chest tighten.
What was wrong with him? He felt more jealous at the possibility that a woman he had just met had a boyfriend, than when he caught his girlfriend of 9 months in bed with another man.
âNo, its just me and my cats at the momentâ She rubbed the back of her neck. Levi realised a breath of relief, no one noticed. Well, no one except Erwin, who grinned into his drink.
The conversation drifted away from (Y/N) life to more mundane things. Work, family and what not. To be honest, Levi was only paying attention if (Y/N) was speaking. But sadly, the evening turned into the night. And everyone was suddenly reminded that they had work tomorrow.
âIt was great meeting you all! Hope we can meet another time!â (Y/N) smiled at them. âOf course! Maybe for lunch?â Nanaba questioned. They agreed to meet for lunch one day, and split up. But luckily for Levi, he and Hange lived on the same street. So the three of them walked together to the building the two ladies lived at. Hange wouldnât stop talking about her latest experiments.
Levi tried a few times to ask (Y/N) some questions, but they either came out as insults or as interrupted by Hange. Usually he was smooth with woman, never having to struggle cause most flocked towards him. But when he had to impress her, he became suddenly shy and nervous.
Snap out of it Ackerman! But before he could snap out of it, the stood outside Hanges apartment. âLooks like were parting ways here Clean freak! See ya tomorrow!â And with that they disappeared behind the entrenced to the building. Levi stood on the street for a couple of minutes, thinking over the night. He cursed at himself for not growing a pair and asking her out. He went to bed angry with himself.
âŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠ
The next week past with everyday just the same like the last. Levi would meet you and Hange at 8 am and walk to your respective jobs. Everyone would meet for lunch (sometimes Erwin, Nanaba and Mike couldnât make it, but Levi would always make it). And everyday, Levi became more and more enchanted with (Y/N).
âI donât know what to do!â Levi groaned and threw his head back against the coach back. He and Erwin and Mike was chilling at Leviâs apartment. âSounds like love to meâ Erwin replied with his cheeky grinned. Oh, how Levi wanted to smack the grin of off his face.
âHow? I have only known her for one week!â
âLove at first sightâ Mike spoke up. âThat doesnât exist assholeâ Levi grumbled out, chugging back his drink. âI donât know man, Mike might be on to somethingâ.
âFuckersâ
âŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠ.
Levi was driving home when he saw it. âMushrooms and Flowersâ, the flower shop (Y/N) worked at. His body reacted before his mind could stop it. And before he knew it his car was parked in front of it and he was halfway between his car and the shop.
A bell rang when he entered the small shop. It was cozy, fairy lights hanging from the celling and the walls were covered in flowers, and by the counter there was a mushrooms display. âLevi!â A familiar voice called from him. âSo good to see youâ She walked over to him. âHow can I help you?â
He was silent. The cold, stoic, gives zero shits Levi Ackerman, was fucking silent.
The hells wrong with you?! Speak!
âI need some flowersâ Yeah, idiot why else would you be here?! âYou came to the right place! What is the occasion?â
Oh god? Was he going to get flowers for a girlfriend? Of course, he had a girl, a man that gorgeous always have an equally beautiful woman by his side. You cannot compete!
(Y/N) was equally nervous as Levi. The same pang of jealousy raced through her at the thought of him with another woman. âA girlâ was all Levi muttered out. Sadness filled (Y/N), but she bit her tears back. Not wanting him to know about her feelings for him. The same feelings that had kept her up at night and made her heart race in a way it never had.
âWell, we have some beautiful roses in many colours! Whatâs her favouriteâ (Y/N) tried not to sound disgusted by the mentioned of another woman.
Levi thought back to when (Y/N) mentioned what her favourite colour was. âOrangeâ.
Good taste, (Y/N) thought. âWell, these are my favourite. They have a nice deep orange colour and gets pretty red at the tips of the flower leavesâ. (Y/N) pointed at the flower in the roseâs aisle. Levi agreed that it was beautiful and didnât hesitate to say: âIâll take itâ.
His apartment smelled of roses. On his kitchen island, four rose bouquets of the orange flowers sat. He had gotten all they had in the store. He was opening a new bottle of whiskey. Not knowing what to do. The glass he filled was quickly swallowed and he filled another.
âI blew it!â He shouldnât have said it was for a girl. What if she thought it was serious and stopped talking to him? What if she found out that he lied about having a girl and though he was a creep?
A million bad thoughts raced through his head, until he finally decided. He was going to do something about it. Maybe it was the adrenaline, maybe it was the alcohol. But a new wave of courage waved through him and he grabbed the flowers and his keys. He knew Hange had a meeting at work, so (Y/N) was home alone.
The walk over was quick. But not quick enough. When he reached the apartment door, the courage washed of and he realized what was going to happened. He was going to confess and she was going to reject him. Why would she not? She has probably heard about his insults and how cold he is from Hange. Why would someone as cheerful as her want someone as dickish like him?
No, he couldnât do it. He left the building.
(Y/N) heard someone moving around outside the door. She looked out the peep hole and saw no one, but something on the ground caught her eye. The flowers Levi had bought from her. All four bouquets. Wasnât these flowers for a girl? After a minute of looking at the flowers with pure confusion, it clicked.
She was the girl.
Without thinking she ran after him. Only in her sleeping shorts and tank top, and her slippers, she ran down the stairs and out to the street. After looking around, she caught him walking away.
âLevi!â
He turned around and was met with her body colliding into him. She was out of breath after running down all the stairs after him. âThe hell you doing out here brat!â
He looked down at her hands and saw the flowers. He rubbed his hand down his face and sighed deeply. Here comes the rejection.
âWas I the girl?â He looked down at her. Risking it all, he nodded. âYeah, yeah you areâ. Time stood still. The people around them didnât matter, the rain that was starting to pour down didnât matter, only them. He looked in her eyes, looking for an answer, but when she pulled him down too meet his lips, he got it. Even though it took a moment for him to realize this was actually happening, when he snapped out of it he kissed her back.
It was like something out of a movie. The rain was pouring down. He was bending her back down a bit and leaning down with her. One hand was behind her back, stabilizing her and the other was on her jaw, holding her close. Her hands were wrapped around his neck. He broke the kiss when he felt her shivering against him. Suddenly he was reminded that they were out on a busy street, it was almost midnight, and she wasnât wearing clothes fit for the rain, or just being outside in the cold.
âLetâs go inside, yeah?â She nodded her hand. As they walked back to her apartment hand in hand, Levi thanked the gods that Erwin had dragged him out to that boring bar.
A/N: Hope you like it! I'm not too happy with the ending, its a bit rushed but i am writing this at 2 am, sooo hehe. Might write a part 2! Take care :)
